Disputing edit by Yamaguchi先生
[edit]I added the following information: A privately funded seaport is currently under construction in Garacad by Wadaagsan Company with approval of the government. Due to its strategic location, it will open up central Somalia and eastern Ethiopia to smooth trade with the rest of the world[1]. At 13-metres, Gara’ad Fishing and Commercial Port will be the deepest port in Somalia. The port will have three berths that can accommodate large boats and container ships as well as fuel storage tanks. More precisely, it will have space for 3 cargo ships of 10,000 DWT-20,000 (3×1500 containers 20’) in addition to a large warehouse and cargo storage area with room for expansion. Gara’ad Fishing and Commercial Port is expected to handle 3,500,000 tons of cargo per year[2].
Yamaguchi先生 erased it leaving this reason: "Removed poorly sourced and non-encyclopedic claims."
However, the source used is directly from the website of the company managing the port project. The Garacad port project is a significant development in Somalia and, as of now, it cannot be found anywhere on Wikipedia. This is important information that should be included on this page. - The external links you are referring to are primary sources, the "About Us" page, which leads to a mission and vision statement for Garacad Seaport. This is effectively a promotional link. Please see Wikipedia:No original research policy and Wikipedia:Identifying and using primary sources. If the project is significant, there should be multiple sources reporting on this project, yes? Are the details of this seaport construction verified by any independent third party publication? Regards, Yamaguchi先生 (talk) 20:16, 5 February 2021 (UTC)

The news sources are all in Somali which I avoided for the sake of other editors. Many Somali news sites lock the ability to right click making them difficult to use. I have collected some sources below and copied/pasted the articles from Google Translate.
Here is a source from the start of the project:

- Gara'ad- (Puntland Mirror) Puntland President Abdiweli Mohamed Ali on Tuesday laid the foundation stone for a new port in the coastal town of Gara'ad in Mudug region. Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, the president said the new port would be of great importance to Somalia and the entire region, including Ethiopia, which has no coast. The multi-million dollar project will be funded by Puntland businessmen, according to Puntland Ports Minister Said Mohamed Rage. The construction project was awarded to a Turkish company, and construction work is expected to take two and a half years. There are plans to build a road that will connect Gara'ad port with Gaalkacyo town, officials said. Gara'ad is a coastal city in the Indian Ocean.
- Here is a more recent source from last summer:
- Gara'ad Port Construction and its Completion Time[4] (link with selectable text)
- June 21, 2020
- Garacad in the Jariban district of Mudug region has been under construction for years, with a modern port that is different from the old Puntland port of Bossaso, and will have services that will allow large ships to dock and unload cargo. The port, which began operations at the end of 2019, is now more than 400mt deep, with a total of 1150mt of water intrusion and burial required. According to the plan, the end of this project, especially during the months of burial, was expected to be completed within 19 months, and is currently underway for more than eight months, with hope for the remaining months. The port is already scheduled to be closed, although plans are afoot to start exporting and importing goods at the port. Dr. Mohamud Qorane is the deputy chairman of the Gara'ad port construction committee. In an exclusive interview with Radio Daljir, he spoke about the current status of the Gara'ad port construction and its plans for completion.
- There was a big update a month later when President Deni visited Garacad:
- Expenses for the construction of Gara'ad port announced[5]
- GAROWE, Puntland - The President of Puntland State of Somalia, HE Said Abdullahi Deni, received at the State House in Galkayo tonight the Mudug Regional Isims and the Gara'ad Port Construction Committee, who briefed the President on the construction of Gara'ad Port. - The construction of Gara'ad Port, which has become the largest infrastructure development project in Somalia since its collapse, is well underway in Gara'ad, Mudug region. The project includes: a modern port with 3 berths that can accommodate large ships and boats; Fuel Storage Tanks; Warehouses and large parking lots for a variety of goods; Business Offices and Government Buildings; The Free Trade Zone and 303 KM Road that will connect Gara'ad Port and Duur-dibi Customs are 100% invested by Somali businessmen and professionals from across the Somali region.
- Investment The project is open to any Somali who can ensure that his or her wealth is earned correctly and fairly.
- Here is a source about an investment conference in Ethiopia last week. It mentions the company managing the project:
- Gara'ad Port Partnership Holds Conference[7]
- Wadaagsin Company, which is constructing Gara'ad Port, held a meeting at the Istanbul Hotel in Jigjiga. The conference is aimed to looga Ethiopian residents an opportunity to provide input to Saamiyaal Port editions. Port Said Abdulkadir ad manager, described the Forum as data port and simply buy the shares looga. The conference was attended by the government and business community of the Somali Regional State of Ethiopia. Gara'ad has been established and is an important source of trade and investment in East Africa.
- Idil News has been documenting the project's progress for several years. Here is a nice list of articles from the beginning up until now. Deex TV has been doing a similar thing on their Youtube channel.
- The official port website neatly gathers this same information into one source with added construction details. I used their "About Us" page as a source because it has a section on the project details. I didn't take any of the promotional information from their "Mission & Vision" or "Objectives" sections, only the "Project Details" section. The information in there has specific numbers that I can't find anywhere outside of Youtube videos.

- Thank you Diig, and my apologies for this delayed response. I think that the sources listed should be adequate. Is there any recently published completion date for this port? Regards, Yamaguchi先生 (talk) 19:55, 8 February 2021 (UTC)
