2006 post
[edit]When I was in Dingle recently two local people - a fisherman and a barman/ student, both in about their late 20's early 30's told me that local fishermen believed that if you passed a baby through that window that person would never drown at sea. Both were told they had been passed through as babies and had seen relatives passing babies through. It wasn't seen as a solemn ceremony - just something worth doing on a trip with no particular ritual involved except passing the child from inside to out. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tim O'Leary (talk • contribs) 09:18, December 6, 2006
Inside
[edit]Can we have a photo from inside? Is there any furniture or an altar or anything? Is it used for prayer or other services (is Mass ever said in there?), or is it just an empty shell peered into by tourists? If anyone knows, the information would be useful. 00:57, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
response to "inside"
[edit]Not a blessed thing, at least six years ago. Just naked space - you could imagine Celts (or whomever) going around in skins or whatever. I saw no sign of mass, or whatever, in the structure or on the grounds - no signs, etc. This is the most beautiful house in the world. I am still confused as to whether any archaeology has been done on the site - which to me might cast substantial light on this peculiar structure. ---Christopher Gray Christopher.Gray@MetroHistory.com —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.105.130.42 (talk) 18:56, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Discovery
