[edit]

There is no such Roman name as "Caius". The person's name was "Gaius Aquilius Tuscus", cited sources both point to this: Livy II 40 uses the abbreviation "C." (which is the regular abbreviation for "Gaius", for reasons explained in the proper article), and Dionysius of Halicarnassus, Roman Antiquities, viii. 64 spells the name in full as "Gaios" (in Greek letters and with Greek ending -os instead of Latin -us). So this - and similar pages, like these listed under Caius:

  1. Caius Aquillius Tuscus: should be "Gaius Aquilius Tuscus"
  2. Caius Bruttius Praesens: should be "Gaius Bruttius Praesens"
  3. Caius Caeionius Rufius Albinus: should be "Gaius Ceionius Rufius Albinus"
  4. Caius Caeionius Rufius Volusianus: should be "Gaius Ceionius Rufius Volusianus
  5. Caius Junius Faustinus Postumianus: should be "Gaius Iunius Faustinus Postumianus"

should be corrected accordingly. Some of them are spelt correctly inside the article itself, just the lemma is wrong. Note that the spelling of "Iunius" and "Ceionius" have to be corrected too. Mamurra (talk) 12:10, 10 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
