Fvlgvres → Fulgures (album) – Opening this for discussion, as I'm not entirely convinced "Fulgures" is not WP:OR. Yes, it's a reasonable assumption that this is what the title means due to the Roman V standing in for "u", and I fully admit it is a stylism, but this feels tantamount to spelling profanity out on Wikipedia when a source censors them because "we know what they mean". Most sources I have seen from a simple Google search use "Fvlgvres" (whether in lower or upper case). Wanting to know what other editors think about the rename. Ss112 03:08, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
- Originally historically U and V were one letter, which uppercase was V and lowercase was u. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 05:21, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose. Using a V in place of a U isn't inherent stylization, it can just be how it's spelled if RSes use it like that. There was an RM like this at Talk:Chvrches, and the consensus was that regardless of pronunciation Wikipedia shouldn't be inventing titles for articles with youneeq spellings if they aren't used commonly at all. - I agree. Just wanted to know what other editors thought, as the page was moved to "Fulgures (album)" and I moved it back, thinking it was WP:OR to assume this is what the title must mean. Ss112 06:55, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
..... in other words isn't original research to know that Fvlgvres is a stylism for Fulgures, this is already extensively documented in the original Italian band article and English partial translation, which say so ....the issue is whether an encyclopedia should go with stylisms per WP:MOSTM. Although to be honest I'm more concerned that the article actually tells the reader some basic information about the album. In ictu oculi (talk) 09:02, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose. It would just be silly to have the article at "Fulgures" with the cover art sitting right there showing the album isn't called that. In addition to the Chvrches RM above, I'll cite Talk:Deadmau5/Archive_3#Requested_Move_4:_Hopefully_the_last_RM and Talk:Tech_N9ne#Requested_move_2. - Oppose for now. The only cited source gives the name as "Fvlgvres". We should avoid stylisms per MOS:TM, but we can't use names that don't appear in any sources.--Cúchullain t/c 17:05, 13 December 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose. There seems no question that sources overwhelmingly spell it with a "V". Andrewa (talk) 08:07, 17 December 2016 (UTC)
