[edit]I can't seem to find any evidence of Danish participation in the Italian Wars... Can somebody please tell me what all those Danish flags are doing on the picture? TheEsb (talk) 14:05, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
- Those are French flags, not Danish ones. From Flag of France:
Hope that helps! Kirill [pf] 18:10, 8 March 2009 (UTC)During the Hundred Years War, England was recognised by a red cross, Burgundy, a red saltire, and France, a white cross. This cross could figure either on a blue or a red field.
When the English & French went off on the Third Crusade it was agreed that the English would have a red cross on a white background & the French a white cross on a red background to distinguish one another. The French symbol however eventually fell into disuse because of its similarity to the Dannebrog - as you have pointed out.--Streona (talk) 14:21, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
Result
[edit]Okay, so the battles fought ended without a clear winner, it could be considered an English victory, the operation was inconclusive, England suffered heavily, nobody really knows what happened, and the French might have been routed easily. Great, thanks. 205.211.141.188 (talk) 02:46, 7 September 2011 (UTC)
