Removing reference to Sara Jacobi / Sara Michael
I'm removing the following sentence, which comprises its own paragraph in the Demographics secition:
- Fredericksburg is also home to talented musician Sara Jacobi, aka Sara Michael.
She doesn't have her own entry in Wikipedia, and I didn't see any musicians at all on the first page of Google hits under either name, so it doesn't appear, at least to me, that she's notable enough (yet) to warrant a mention—though I certainly wish her all the best. I tend toward inclusionism in Wikipedia, but if every musician in Fredericksburg gets a mention, then this article will become unwieldy. —CKA3KA (Skazka) 21:07, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
Persecution
I live in nearby Austin and have family members in Fredericksburg. I'm aware of the pro-union Texas resistance during the Civil War, but I'm not aware of any instance where Fredericksburgians were prosecuted solely because they were Germans. I'm altering that section. Foster2008 02:44, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
Suicide Rate
Regarding the line about the high suicide rate of Gillespy County: That should be in the entry for the Gillespy County, rather than for the city of Fredericksburg? I'm removing it from this entry. Quacks Like a Duck 16:06, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
Images
Is it just me or do the images on the current version seem a little over abundant and excessive? The layout of the page just seems all over the place, more particularly in the latter half. Amplifiedlight (talk) 06:00, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
- I went ahead and took the liberty of cleaning up the page some, moving some images, and removing a couple that had no reference in the article. Amplifiedlight (talk) 06:37, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
Gillespie County vote on Secession
I removed the sentence, as it's more appropriately covered in Gillespie County, Texas.
Vereins-Kirche
I have removed the sentence "The bell at Vereins-Kirche came from Brenham, Germany." I can't verify there is a bell in the Vereins-Kirche, and if there is, that it came from Bremen Germany..
