Treaty with the Comanche

[edit]

I added a reference for the treaty with the Comanche. I discarded the previous use of "Anglo-Indian" since the residents of Fredericksburg were not Anglo-American but German-American. I also changed the statement declaring this to be the only treaty not to be broken. The Quakers did not break their treaty with the Delaware, and there are also treaties between towns in Kentucky and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians that have not been broken. Just wanted to explain my actions. Cheers, Uyvsdi (talk) 07:50, 17 February 2009 (UTC)Uyvsdi[reply]

The Meusebach–Comanche Treaty was specifically between the Penateka Comanche nation and the German Immigration Company. It was not a government treaty and, therefore, not subject to any interpretation, execution or adoption by any government entity. Full text can be seen on Meusebach–Comanche Treaty Wiki page. Meusebach eventually dissolved the German Immigration Company, and the Comanches were moved elsewhere by Federal troops. Correct to say the treaty was never broken. Misleading to say it's never been broken to this day. The two entities are not around to break it. Maile66 (talk) 12:16, 14 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fredericksburg Famous People

[edit]

Why is Buffy Tyler, Playboy Playmate November 2000 and a lovely Texan, not listed in Fredericksburg's famous people?!

Beyonce Knowles Carter went to school in Fredericksburg? I call B.S. Can anybody provide any sort of proof for this? --70.112.176.17 (talk) 05:09, 9 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I also took it out of her article. Either a mistake, or otherwise, she went to St. Mary's school in Houston, not Fredericksburg. — Maile (talk) 19:31, 9 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
