Initial creation and link maintenance
[edit]- Article created with 114 entries
- Medal is now defunct (see Franklin Institute)
- Layout tidied up and initial set of redlinks checked
- Eight (8) redlinks turned blue by creating redirects
- One (1) redlink turned blue by a correction of spelling
- Three (3) redlinks remain, with 111 blue links
- All blue links clicked to check correct person has been linked (will list errors below)
Other thoughts: tidying on layout still needed, possible a table is better. Any table would need to list "section" of award (e.g. Physics, Engineering, etc). And also the year, as several years have multiple awards. Need more background to the award, including who it is named after, how much money (if any) is awarded with the prize, when the award was founded, when and why it ended, and any more details out there. Errors with blue links
[edit]Wrong links:
- Edward Weston is wrong one, but via Edward Weston (disambiguation), arrived at Edward Weston (chemist)
- Paul Sabatier is wrong one, but via hatnote, arrived at Paul Sabatier (chemist)
- David Turnbull is wrong one, but via David Turnbull (disambiguation), arrived at David Turnbull (materials scientist)
Successful disambiguation:
- Robert Robinson disambiguated to Robert Robinson (organic chemist)
- Donald Wills Douglas disambiguated to Donald Wills Douglas, Sr.
- Stanley Cohen disambiguated to Stanley Cohen (biochemist)
Only six (6) blue links needed changing. 3 redlinks remain, with 111 blue links. All 3 redlinks listed below to aid tracking. Carcharoth (talk) 01:05, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

Einstein with a NAZI flag?
[edit]It seems pretty incorrect on several levels to list Einstein next to a Swastika.
When he was born that wouldn't have been the flag of his birthplace. When he received the award he definitely wasn't living in that country.
We should find a more historical accurate flag to show his "country" 213.205.240.125 (talk) 11:02, 6 April 2023 (UTC)
