While Tacitus also mentions these three brothers, he obviously didn't come up with them himself, he simply described Germanic mythology. Your view is mentioned in the article: Müllenhoff once mooted that the Table was the work of a West Germanic compiler familiar with the same folk history—still thus a living tradition in the 6th century—which had informed Tacitus' account several hundred years earlier. He later abandoned this position and the Table is not now thought to have originated in such a milieu. —Srnec (talk) 02:23, 9 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
