Fair use rationale for Image:Truly.jpg
[edit]Image:Truly.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BetacommandBot 16:05, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

Brain surgery?
[edit]In the documentary "The Story of Are You Being Served?" broadcast on BBC 2, Jan. 1, 2010, Frank Thornton has a very noticeable and deep dimple in the upper left part of his forehead. Has he had an injury or surgery? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.232.94.33 (talk) 08:13, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
I can put an end to this speculation. You are more than welcome to add this to his page. About 20 years ago, Frank bumped his head getting into his car and was at first left with a bruise. Within a month or two he started suffering from headaches and was rushed into hospital with a blood clot which was duly operated on, hence the two marks left on the top of his head! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jonblacksands (talk • contribs) 12:49, 18 April 2013 (UTC)

Hi
I am one of Frank's grandchildren and would like to request the addition of an official website we have set up for him, http://frankthornton.org.uk
Also, as far as we are aware, he never appeared in Emmerdale Farm. Of course I have no proof to back me up but I can't find much more proof online and it doesn't mention it on his imdb.com page either.
Kind regards Jonathan Jonblacksands (talk) 12:00, 18 April 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for this. I've added the website as an external link, and added a [citation needed] tag to the reference to Emmerdale. There may well be an Emmerdale obsessive somewhere who can confirm his appearance - if not, the statement can be deleted. Ghmyrtle (talk) 12:05, 18 April 2013 (UTC)
Appearance in Pirates of Penzance
[edit]At some point in the 1990s he appeared [...]in[...] The Pirates Of Penzance
This seems a rather inexact and unencyclopedic entry. And why are Paul Nicholas and Bonnie Langford italicized? Nuttyskin (talk) 23:07, 15 August 2017 (UTC)
