Very POV
[edit]Hoo boy, is this an unbalanced piece, coming almost entirely from Stanton's own memoirs. David Halberstam's The Powers That Be shows a very different view of Stanton, specifically his amazingly close relationship with LBJ. Eleemosynary 02:27, 17 March 2006 (UTC)
- Agreed. It's gushy, and lacking in any clear chronological narrative of Stanton's career. How and why was Stanton selected by Paley to become president of CBS? What did he do during the years when CBS was slowly getting into television? What was his role in the competitive battles with the other networks? How did his relations with Paley evolve over the years? Why did Paley constantly promise to make him CEO and then welsh on the promise every time? Etc. etc. 173.16.252.154 (talk) 18:55, 6 September 2009 (UTC)
- I see that this article is as puffy and poorly organized as it was years ago. I've removed the blatant puffery from the lead. Coretheapple (talk) 18:51, 26 April 2016 (UTC)
Vandalism
[edit]I reverted vandalism of the penultimate paragraph, which included references to the Ten Commandments and the "butterfly effect." Zagnik
Trivia
[edit]the death and legacy section is trivial without any context and 1-lines saying nothing else. Also every donation of the stanton foundation is not noteworthy (esp. without context on it being biggest or not). kept most stuff in with a tag, but removed the latter.Lihaas (talk) 06:09, 20 October 2011 (UTC)

Blatant plagiarism in "quiz show scandals"
[edit]I noticed when finding a source, that it was entirely plagiarized from the new world encyclopedia entry on him, what to do? Max BuddyRoo (talk) 17:23, 22 February 2023 (UTC)
- As noted on the bottom of that source, they copy the material from here and "improve it". Often, most of it is unchanged. Sam Kuru (talk) 01:45, 23 February 2023 (UTC)
