Infobox Image Discussion

[edit]

There seems to be some dispute over which image belongs in the infobox. Let's all please stop the mild revert war that has begun, and reach a consensus on the issue before making a final determination on the placement of the images in this article.

I contend that the image of the square itself belongs in the infobox, not the image of the fountain. This article is about the square, and the fountain image is already prominently featured in the fountain's own article, which is as it should be. I agree with MamaGeek DaveMenninger 14:49, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • I put it back to the fountain square image, which is what it had before, after posting a discussion, getting at least one agreement, and inviting Meckstroth.jm to engage in said discussion, both here and on his own talk page. He reverted again, then undid his reversion for some unknown reason without giving any explanation. Meckstroth.jm, if you have a good reason for believing that the fountain image is a more proper one for the infobox than the photo of the entire square, then please do share with us, so we can understand and work toward making this the best article it can be. MamaGeek (talk/contrib) 12:19, 7 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I now agree with you and I did change it to the square picture. Meckstroth.jm, 21:49, 9 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Map 750.jpg

[edit]

Image:Map 750.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Fair use logos

[edit]

I've removed (again) fair use logos not related to Fountain Square - per policy. Rklawton 21:52, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the heads up. I've left him/her a note and a link to our fair use policies. Rklawton 21:34, 1 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mis-redirect

[edit]

This page features a notice near its heading stating that "'Fountain square' redirects here. For other uses, see Fountain square (disambiguation)," when, in fact, it directs to Fountain square. I'd change it, but I don't know if A) the notice should be correct or B) how to do redirects in the first place. So I figured I'd just point out this inconsistency.
