Does anyone know exactly what they did to the church when they built the gallery? From Google Street View, it looks like they built the gallery on the church's forecourt, but the drawing on the source's website doesn't look like it had much of a one - I'm just wondering if they raised or moved the building. - I don't think they moved the church. If you look at the sketch here, noting that it is a sketch and might not be completely accurate, you see that there are a pair of stairs leading from the church doors down to their front yard and then another set of stairs leading down to the street. I think the combination of the two shifts in level, possibly with a bit of a lowering of the footpath is sufficient to squeeze in the gallery level below the level of the where the church doors are. The photo here is probably better to look at than Google Street View which has a temporary marquay blocking your view of the church. Kerry (talk) 08:32, 13 February 2015 (UTC)
- Interesting. Thanks for that - I agree you're probably right based on that. The Drover's Wife (talk) 09:27, 13 February 2015 (UTC)
