Discussion of the problems of Thursday 14th November 2008
[edit]These issues are extremely serious, and need to be considered in detail before a balanced paragraph can be written so I have moved the discussion here. At the moment, this is rolling news, and while of extreme importance, Wikipedia is an encyclopedia not a blog, but editors do need to keep themselves informed of the situation- so it does need to be reported here. It will helpful if references can be given ie Council Minute Book paragraphs, Medway Messenger reports, and any conflicts of interest declared. - On Thursday 14th November 2008 the Amherst Heritage Centre board of directors were informed by the Fort Amherst Heritage Trust that they were going ahead with the merger of another Charity Based on the Site and if the Amherst Heritage Centre did not join the Trust a continued block on bookings would continue. The Directors of AHC where also informed if they did not choose to merge they would have to leave Fort Amherst. Faced with this Dilemma the Directors of the Amherst Heritage Centre felt they had no other option but to give into the Blackmail of the trustees of Fort Amherst and agree with the principal to merge.
- Earlier in 2008 the Amherst Heritage Centre Repetitive on the Fort Amherst Heritage Trust Board was voted off, leaving the Amherst Heritage Centre unrepresented and ultimately without a voice.
