Ukraine-North Korea relations

[edit]

Does Ukraine still recognise North Korea as a sovereign state? Normally, cutting off diplomatic relations with a country does not necessarily entail abandoning recognition of sovereignty. However, when it comes to states with limited recognition, it is important to pay attention to details such as these. The Wikipedia article that I've linked says that North Korea is not recognised as a sovereign state by seven United Nations member states (as well as Taiwan, Vatican City, etc). The seven UN countries that don't recognise North Korea presumably consider South Korea to be the legitimate sovereign of the entire Korean peninsula, or they otherwise don't recognise North Korea's legitimacy under its current system of government. So, that begs the question, does Ukraine actually still recognise North Korea as being sovereign, or does the cutting off of diplomatic ties also include the removal of sovereign recognition? I honestly don't know the answer to this myself, and I'm reading about it. Jargo Nautilus (talk) 02:45, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Reference to wikileaks

[edit]

I just noticed a malformed reference that looked like this:

<ref>http://46.59.1.2 {{Webarchive|url=https://web.archive.org/web/20110701214412/http://46.59.1.2/ |date=2011-07-01}}.nyud.net/cable/2009/12/09RABAT988.html</ref>

I figured out that it was for a page on wikileaks: https://wikileaks.org/plusd/cables/09RABAT988.html but it got all messed up I think when an archiver tried to add an archive url. I tried to fix it, but upon saving the page I got a warning about using refs to wikileaks. That's fine with me, but I didn't want to go removing existing references and potentially the content that was relying on the reference and all that. I think the original author may have been trying to subvert the ban on wikileaks by obfuscating the source by using an IP address and an nyud.net host.

Anyway, I fixed it to:

<ref>{{ site web |url=http://46.59.1.2/cable/2009/12/09RABAT988.html |title=Cable: 09RABAT988_a |access-date=2023-02-08 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20101204180515/http://46.59.1.2/cable/2009/12/09RABAT988.html |archive-date=2011-06-03 |url-status=dead}}</ref>

Which preserves the original hostname that may or may not be trying to subvert wikipedia policy. Someone may want to remove/edit that part of the article.

Relations via Moscow need checking

[edit]

Statements like these

"Saudi Arabia is represented in Ukraine through its embassy in Moscow (Russia)."

need checking after the Russian invasion. Russia and Ukraine no longer have diplomatic relations. Vox Sciurorum (talk) 13:40, 13 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

What is this nonsence?

[edit]

"On 28 February 2022 Ukraine recognised Republic of Russia. Freedom of Russia Legion against russian president with Vladimir Putin the betrayal and traitor". Can somebody explain what is this all about? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gorgedweller (talkcontribs) 11:06, 12 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I deleted the sentence. If anybody recognizes true facts in there, please restore in the proper Wikipedia style. Vox Sciurorum (talk) 17:03, 13 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
