Why is it Forchess and not Fourchess? OK, so it sounds a bit like "fortress"....

I've just looked at the official webpage of the game. One thing isn't clear: is a player allowed to capture his/her partner's pieces?

"Rogers wanted the game to use only standard pieces and a standard board so that everything necessary to play would be readily available." As if four-player chess sets are readily available. At first I figured that you need either two or three sets in different colour schemes or a regular Staunton set for one team and a novelty set for the other.
