Has remained uncited since creation over six months ago. Either citations which are "easily found" should be added, or left as a redirect until someone is willing to work on them. Leaving an uncited article is irresponsible at best. Onel5969 TT me 21:43, 24 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It does not strike me as good faith to place a Notability tag on the article and then immediately replace all of the content with a redirect. There is WP:NODEADLINE, after all.

An AfD nomination would have been a more appropriate venue to discuss Notability if this is the real concern. Newimpartial (talk) 22:11, 24 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Newimpartial - and thanks for engaging on the talk page. Normally I would agree. But you don't know how many times I've been admonished by admins for taking something to AfD which a simple redirect would have corrected. While there is no policy/guideline, what I've gleaned over the past several years is that if an article remains tagged for more than 6 months or so, the items in question can be deleted (or in this case redirected). I put the notability tag on the article simply to avail myself of the tools it gives me to look at possible sourcing. In this instance, however, due to the commonality of the name, it was virtually impossible to find sources pertaining to this topic. If as you say sources are easily found, please add them. I couldn't find any. Oh, and btw, you're in violation of the 3RR rule on the other article as well. Onel5969 TT me 22:17, 24 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
True, but that article was edited beyond recognition before you pointed out that I lost count (easy to do on mobile). I will be more careful in future ... Newimpartial (talk) 22:58, 24 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
So a Swiss newspaper article about the band is here <https://m.lecourrier.ch/edition_du_jeudi_27_avril_2006_culture> and their discography is here <https://www.discogs.com/artist/9962-Force-Of-Nature> - the latter may not contribute to notability but is certainly a relevant source.
As far as notability is concerned, FORCE OF NATURE released both Samurai Shampoo albums on Victor, a major label, which satisfies NOTABILITY:MUSIC point 5, and is one of the "most prominent representatives" of the DJ / hip-hop (or trip-hop?) scene in Tokyo, meeting point 7 as well. N:MUSIC point 10 specifies that a redirect to the notable medium, in this case the anime for the soundtracks, may be appropriate where that is the only claim to notability, but we have at least two other claims here.
I do not read Japanese so I am unable to manipulate the main sources for this article, but if there is swiss journalism for them, and many English-language interviews are available, I am completely convinced that there would be no sourcing limitations for a Japanese reader. Care to rethink the redirect? Newimpartial (talk) 13:32, 25 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. First, discogs is not a sign of notability. Second, the Swiss article is brief mention. Third, N:MUSIC only says that if it passes any of those bullet points it may be notable. The fact that it squeaks by in ONLY one is almost a sure sign of lack of notability. Not sure where you're coming up with the rationale for point 7, the dearth of sourcing would be a contra-indication of that. Right now, with the sourcing available, doesn't come close to passing WP:GNG. Onel5969 TT me 01:23, 28 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
No, that isn't a "brief mention" in the sense of WP:N bit anyway, why are you assuming that there is no RS coverage in Japanese? That seems a rather, er, heroic assumption. Newimpartial (talk) 03:01, 28 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that's pretty much the definition of a brief mention. And why are you assuming there are? That's not the way wp works. If they are there, then an editor will produce them. Onel5969 TT me 13:01, 28 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I am not sure whether you were misled by the layout of the Swiss article, but although it is titled with the name of the Swiss formation Enterplay it discusses Force of Nature, its members, and its collaborators throughout. This is not at all what WP means by a trivial mention. And the basis for my "most prominent representatives" claim is the English-language interview journalism: what other Japanese trip-hop bands have that level of coverage? As far as the "If they are there, then an editor will produce them" argument, how do you think that works after you impose a redirect? Newimpartial (talk) 04:37, 30 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
