Fair use rationale for Image:Jaghead.gif

[edit]
This issue was resolved by the use of a fair use rational for a non-free image.

Image:Jaghead.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Explanation of Tagging & Deletions

[edit]
These issues have been resolved and/or the fixes not reviewed

First, let me say that the article is a lot stronger than many stub or start classified articles in Wikipedia:WikiProject Schools. With that said, please review WP:WPSCHOOLS before working further on this article. I am not an admin, just a fellow Wikipedian trying to clean up articles as I have time. My comments follow:

  • I removed some nonsense in the Football section (Harry Potter, students names with inflammatory comments, etc.) and tagged other items that need attention.
  • This is not a running awards page for the school, but it read that way with individual students named. That's what your school newsletter and marquee are for, not what Wikipedia is for. If those students go on to become notable in their own right then maybe, someday, they can be referenced on the school's page under Notable Alumni. Until then, try to avoid getting so far in the weeds that only Joe Sr. or Suzy Sophomore is going to be interested in the article.
  • Also, please try to avoid writing as though everything "saw" something, eg. "The school saw tremendous growth...the team saw a very good year...the district saw unprecedented graduation rates..." etc.

Thanks for helping with the vandalism; I've updated part of the page. Do you consider the "History" section better enough to remove the rewrite tag? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.252.253.19 (talk) 05:48, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In the last revision I edited, I found duplicate named references, i.e. references sharing the same name, but not having the same content. Please check them, as I am not able to fix them automatically :)

Athletics - surely there's more information for this, the band, the orchestra, and art?

Fine Arts - can anyone either split this up or reduce the fluff?

Well, that's my view. CB (ö) 07:00, 30 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
