[edit]The following was removed from the article and probably ought to be worked back in:
- "Man wearing pants made out of a flour sack, China, c. 1905–1910". University of Southern California Libraries.

[edit]I had made edits to the article on Flour sacks to include materials other than just cotton. Flour sacks today are made of paper, polymeric laminates, woven and non-woven fabrics, etc. I included a photo of a current paper bag. My edits were reverted because of lack of citations (I have them available now) and possibly going outside the scope of only historic cotton sacks. The article is titled Flour Sacks which certainly includes a variety of materials and constructions. If you disagree, please state your reasons: otherwise I will add the expansion with proper citations. Pkgx (talk) 18:22, 1 October 2022 (UTC)
- The article and all of its current references plus its bibliography are about the topic of fabric sacks that were used for flour and feed, and how they were reused for other purposes. You could add a section about how other materials came into use as flour and feed packaging (with refs). If added to the lead as "flour sack" meaning more than the fabric sacks that the article is currently about, you'd need to make the clothing and folklore sections explicit that they were talking about the fabric sacks. - If this is an article about "flour sack fabric" then the title should be changed to Flower Sack Fabric. Pkgx (talk) 21:52, 1 October 2022 (UTC)
- If you want to propose a rename (properly spelled), that's fine. Schazjmd (talk) 21:57, 1 October 2022 (UTC)
- You could use "Flour Sack Fabric" if you want. It is important that the name match the contents of the article. Pkgx (talk) 23:03, 1 October 2022 (UTC)
