As far as I'm aware, FSS are a North American thing. Maybe this article should say as much?BaseTurnComplete 10:50, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
- I don't think that's quite true -- at least, other countries have Mandatory frequency airports with FSS onsite, so they likely have FSS other places as well. David (talk) 21:19, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
Rename article?
[edit]I see that it has different names in other countries — in the UK, it's called an "FBU" (Flight Briefing Unit). I propose renaming this article to Flight services, to cover FSS, FBU, and any other acronyms. David (talk) 00:53, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
- I was trying to think of a better name but I can't really come up with anything. Flight services sort of makes me think of things that you would get from a flight attendant. So I guess I have no problem with the move. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 13:57, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
Requested move to Flight service station
[edit]As best I can tell, this is a non-proper term. I see that the article was previously at flight service station -- as User:CambridgeBayWeather moved the article to its current place, I'll request clarification from him on whether this term is actually proper or not.
