Possible Error Regarding Fine Arts Building in Los Angeles

[edit]

I am preparing an article on the Fine Arts Building in Los Angeles. According to my research, the Fine Arts Building in Los Angeles was never know as the Standard Oil Building. It was once known as the Signal Oil Building, and I suspect that this is the source of confusion. There is a different Standard Oil Building in Los Angeles, built in 1924 and located at 605 W. Olympic Blvd.

The site thefreedictionary.com claims that the Fine Arts Building is also known as the Standard Oil Building. However, I believe this information to be erroneous. (See http://encyclopedia.thefreedictionary.com/Fine+Arts+Building). I can find no other reference that claims the Fine Arts Building to have ever been known as the Standard Oil Building.
