FedExCup proper name

[edit]

Why does there seem to be an absolute dismissal of how the PGA TOUR brands things on Wikipedia? FedExCup is one word and I think this page should be changed to reflect that. bazinwanga 21:50 24 September 2012 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bazinwanga (talkcontribs) 01:52, 25 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Fed Ex Cup Observations

[edit]

Greetings ....

  • There are no conditions for winning the Fed Ex Cup Grand Prize of $10 million, save for two --
    • 1: Full-time membership on the PGA Tour
    • 2: Earning more Fed Ex Cup points then anyone else up through the Tour Championship

The Cup Chase might be a little more compelling if you had an unconditional $5 million prize, with conditions for doubling it to $10 million. And under such a scenario, you would not need a 4-event playoff.

  • The events for the FedEx Cup Playoffs will be the same ones each year. No other events will share in the Fed Ex Cup experience.

2008: Vijay Singh Almost Has it

[edit]

Vijay Singh will claim the 2008 Fed Ex Cup championship, barring BOTH of the following --

A: Singh withdraws or gets disqualified from the Tour Championship
B: Camilo Villegas wins the Tour Championship

If you spot a news article confirming this (and you will), post it!

Thanx-A-Lot, Frank Fgf2007 (talk) 05:47, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

or B: Sergio Garcia wins the Tour Ch. Tewapack (talk) 16:27, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

2013 is no longer the future

[edit]

Article desperately needs attention from someone who knows the current format of the event. It refers repeatedly to changes that are to happen in 2013. Kevin McE (talk) 10:01, 19 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Playoff Changes

[edit]

this article needs to be updated to reflect the 2023 season will have only 70 players qualifying (down from 125).

Source: https://www.pgatour.com/article/news/needtoknow/2022/12/27/five-things-to-know-about-the-pga-tour-for-2023 50.225.105.130 (talk) 22:20, 30 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Currently in the middle of the 2024 series (only the Tour Championship to go) and agree that shortening the FEDEX Cup playoffs from 4 events to 3 in 2019 and limiting the field from 125 players to 70 in 2023 has materially changed the feel of the playoffs and should be acknowledged in the article.
