Work page

[edit]

Look, "Like A Surgeon" will be released after "Work", and we have more info on "Work", yet "Work" does not have a page and "Like A Surgeon" does. Does anybody else think that "Work" needs a page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.231.120.55 (talk) 22:43, 9 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I do want a page for work. But everytime i reopen its page, someone redirects it to fantasy ride again, saying that it hasnt charted (not notable). ----TrEeMaNsHoE (talk) 20:50, 10 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

yea it has! "Like A Surgeon" has charted on 1 chart, and it gets a page, and when "Work" charts on two "notable" charts it doesn't get a page? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.231.120.55 (talk) 22:09, 10 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

which two charts has work appeared on? cus i've search billboard and couldn't find it. (Lil-unique1 (talk) 22:23, 10 June 2009 (UTC))[reply]

they are foreign charts —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.231.120.55 (talk) 04:04, 12 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

which ones? can you provide links/sources? (Lil-unique1 (talk) 00:41, 14 June 2009 (UTC))[reply]

On 1 European chart, sorry not 2 charts. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.231.120.55 (talk) 05:46, 16 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Changes from end of 1st FEB - MARCH

[edit]

POSTING INFORMATION ABOUT LEAKS OR RUMOURED TRACKS SHOWS A LACK OF SUPPORT FOR AN ARTIST. Please do not vandalise the fantasy ride page with rumoured tracks. Yes they might have leaked, and yes they might be included in the album. But this is supposed to a be a factual page and therefore we cannot have information which is not properly sourced and referenced. Don't forget that this album is a future release so until it is actually released expect many changes.

And as word of caution youtube and blog websites are NOT suitable references for track-listings unless it is THE official CIARA Youtube channel or http://www.ciaraworld.com/(ciara's ONLY official website approved by her record label). please no more vandalism. Confirmed vs. Recorded tracks?

[edit]

Why are these in two different sections? SE KinG. User page. Talk. 22:03, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

why dont you leave the recorded tracks section? why do they keep being removed? i could have referenced them from the websites which they've leaked on. (Lil-unique1 (talk) 22:02, 19 February 2009 (UTC))[reply]

1. I didn't remove it.
2. Leaks are not a reliable source. SE KinG. User page. Talk. 22:07, 19 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thats fair enough but the tracks that i had placed on here where listed as "other recordings/rumoured tracks". others users have been able upload "rumoured tracklistings" e.g. letoya luckett's wikipedia page. (Lil-unique1 (talk) 23:24, 19 February 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Track Listing

[edit]

Why had "Im On" and "Explode" been removed from the track listing even though they were performed by Ciara at the Wild FM radio concert as listed in the promo section?>???? talk about confusing the facts and mis-interpreting an article. jeeze STOP the beaurocracy. (Lil-unique1 (talk) 22:13, 19 February 2009 (UTC))[reply]

im confused. Im a G has also been removed. There was a leak of it on ciara's official youtube page... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.3.125.109 (talk) 11:41, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Three disc album?!

[edit]

Amazon.com says the Fantasy Ride album will be released on Jan. 27, and it's going to be a ONE DISC album (standard), should the THREE DISC- section be deleted? User: partyface —Preceding undated comment was added at 16:08, 17 January 2009 (UTC).[reply]

Amazon is not a reliable source. Besides Ciara already told MTV that the album is moved to an April release date.

Even play.com lists the albums release for 6th april. (Lil-unique1 (talk) 22:13, 19 February 2009 (UTC))[reply]

should we remove the three disc section as it in unconfirmed by ciara or her record label. no other source can be provided. target.com, amazon.com, hmv.com all say the album will be one disc standard edition, 2 disc bonus edition.? (Lil-unique1 (talk) 23:54, 18 March 2009 (UTC))[reply]

CIARA CONFIRMED IN "VIBE" MAGAZINE BACK IN OCTOBER THAT THE ALBUM WOULD ONLY BE RELEASED AS A ONE DISC ALBUM,, BUT I REALLY DIDN'T PAY MUCH ATTENTION TO THE CONTROVERSIAL SOURCE CIARA HAS DEALT WITH THIS MAGAZINE,, SO THERE IS NO REASON TO BELIEVE THAT IT WOULD NOT BE RELEASED AS A 3 DISC UNTIL CIARA OR LABEL CONFIRM,,Magic-Fan09 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.253.103.53 (talk) 03:34, 21 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ciara & Justin Timberlake

[edit]

Their track is called Love & Sex & Magic and will be on Fantasy Ride. The track leaked a while ago with only Justin Timberlake and it was called Magic. I can confirm Love & Sex & Magic will be on Ciara's album. It was produced by Timbaland. UPDATE: It could be called LSM. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 26.47.207.265 (talk) 14:05, 8 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[1] There's the reference. If you said "I can confirm it" why wait until someone asks you to?

I posted this one 8th Feb. I couldn't send anyone the track back then so I could only give you the details...well noone believed me so forget it now you know i was telling the truth. BTW it's produced by Timbaland not Justin Timberlake. Timberlake is a typo...you can choose not to believe me again but whatever, i've proven myself already. 26.47.207.265 (talk)10:29, 20 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Go Girl

[edit]

Are we now assuming that "Go Girl" will not appear on the album even though it was released as a promo single...? (Lil-unique1 (talk) 21:22, 19 March 2009 (UTC))[reply]

It's not on the album...Ciara said in March that she was ashamed of the song, so you'll never hear her perform it again...but even though "Never Ever" flopped she still performs it live and loves the song, so now it is doing a bit better, and is expected to hit the top 40 because of "Love Sex Magic" and live performances, and she obviously loves "Love Sex Magic" I mean it is her comeback song.

Bubble gum

Rumored Track Listing

[edit]

A rumored track listing has been released, but is indeed fake. The producers are wrong for a lot of the songs. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.215.121.147 (talk) 00:07, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Like I have said SEVERAL times in the past hour. If you can find a source that says "the Fantasy Ride track listing is fake" we can remove it. But until then since the information is sourced it is valid. SE KinG. User page. Talk. 00:09, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Is there any reliable sources that say it's real? No. This track listing should be removed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.215.121.147 (talk) 19:37, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, the source already listed is reliable enough. SE KinG. User page. Talk. 21:07, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No, it really isn't. The only track listings that should be posted should be from Ciara's official websites or her record company. Many places have posted 'track listings' for the album. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.215.121.147 (talk) 21:39, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

However this is the first tracklisting which fits with the other sources. eg. it mentions the bonus tracks, it mentions the right selection of producers, mentions the released singles, mentions a number of songs which have leaked and is inline with interviews ciara has give. THE ARTICLE clearly states that the tracklisting has not been approved by the record label yet. it should therefore be sufficiant for the time being. As and when an official tracklisting is available fear not for changes will be need as required. (Lil-unique1 (talk) 22:20, 3 April 2009 (UTC))[reply]

This album has been subject to much change, just within a few hours of my last message look at whats changed, the album cover and tracklisting have been confirmed. Amazon and Play confirm the tracklisting, whilst Amazon and Target confirm the album covers. We need to be vigilent about changes like these. (Lil-unique1 (talk) 01:44, 4 April 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Was Go Girl removed from the album? :S I honestly think that track listing is fake aswell. It only has 13 tracks and she worked on it for a while. I expected much more of this album. I really hope this track listing is fake. I also hoped it would include 3 discs. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.215.121.147 (talk) 03:18, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Just because the album has thirteen tracks and the album was pushed back several times doesn't mean the track listing is fake. The fact that multiple songs leaked through the internet in the past couple of months has significantly altered the track listing. — Σxplicit 03:28, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The first tracklisting seemed more useful,,, this tracklisting doesn't carry "Go Girl",, and on Amazon,,, it doesn't say "Pucker Up" is a track,, this one is clearly a fake aswell... Ciarafan-09 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.249.28.190 (talk) 03:26, 4 April 2009 (UTC) \[reply]

Maybe the label is doing this for the time being,, like the original "Fantasy Ride" cover was confirmed as the official cover on Ciaraworld.com last month,, but now it's a totally different cover. maybe their doing the tracklisting the same so they could surprise us in the future.

Any retail site is not a reliable source ie. Amazon, HMV, Target, Best Buy, etc. SE KinG. User page. Talk. 03:35, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why was the old cover added and the track listing? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.215.121.147 (talk) 03:44, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think the newest track listing is the correct one. The current one is contradicting because the article mentions a single disc towards the bottom... there is no way though twenty tracks can fit on one CD. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.163.10.201 (talk) 04:11, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Christina Aguilera's album Stripped has 20 tracks on it. That track listing that was posted on amazon seems pretty fake to much. All of the songs on it has leaked except Like A Surgeon, which seems pretty fake to much. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.215.121.147 (talk) 04:59, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

And Janet Jackson had 22 on her most recent, I believe... but they were under 80 minutes. When you add all the tracks from the three discs together, it goes OVER 80 minutes and a CD only holds 80 minutes. See what I'm saying? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.163.10.201 (talk) 06:12, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah. I do hope it releases on 3 discs though. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.215.121.147 (talk) 06:48, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The point is now we have three commercial retailers (AMAZON, PLAY adn CD UNIVERSE) that can confirm the new 13 track-listing. AS much as i want the listing from rap-basement to be correct its probably not because they can't confirm where they got it from. AMAZON get their information direct from the label. There was never any solid confirmation from CIARA that the album would be released on the discs. In fact since Billboard reported the three themed album (crunktown, kingdom of dance and groovecity) no other credible source has supported this. therefore we should leave the track-listing as it is and if/when official track-listings are released or AMazon or Play change theirs then we'll make changes accordingly. Its the same issue with the album covers.... (Lil-unique1 (talk) 15:19, 4 April 2009 (UTC))[reply]

It's also possible that Ciara/Jive changed their mind. She started this album in early 08, it's now April 09. Things could have changed. Who knows really, well just have to wait and see. Until then, the Amazon, Play, etc. track list is the most reliable I think. By the way, I've NEVER heard of RapBasement before this, is everyone sure they are reliable? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.163.10.201 (talk) 15:35, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

by wikipedia rules no FANSITE is a reliable source of information (Lil-unique1 (talk) 15:37, 4 April 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Rap Up is now confirming this tracklisting. http://www.rap-up.com/2009/04/04/ciara-fantasy-ride-covers-tracklisting/#more-15100 --172.163.10.201 (talk) 16:23, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Both should be put up until her or her label confirms one. Plus, most of the songs on the Amazon one have leaked. Majority from Rapbasement haven't. They must be newly recorded. And on SincerelyCiara.com, it said that the Amazon cover was only for the deluxe editions. —Preceding unsigned comment added by TrEeMaNsHoE (talkcontribs) 19:20, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No tracklisting should be up there, because her or her label haven't put out one. All we have is other sites. Rap- up isn't too reliable either. Also, most of the songs on this tracklisting have leaked. It might be old. —Preceding unsigned comment added by TrEeMaNsHoE (talkcontribs) 01:32, 5 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ciara confirmed on the radio that the official track list has not been released and that all the one's out there are fake. She also said that the track list will be released soon. The new covers were released on her website, so I'm guessing soon. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.215.121.147 (talk) 03:59, 5 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

WE CAN FINALLY CONFIRM THAT THE TRACK-LISTING IS CORRECT. TODAY (APRIL 5, 2009) CIARAWORLD.COM POSTED THE OFFICIAL ALBUM COVERS AND ALSO POSTED A PRE-ORDER LINKS FOR FANS TO PRE-ORDER THE ALBUM. CRUCIALLY THE LINK TAKES YOU TO AMAZON SO IT MUST BE CORRECT!!!! (Lil-unique1 (talk) 17:22, 5 April 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Amazon IS a reliable source due to them receiving their information DIRECTLY FROM THE LABEL. They are the first to reveal many tracklists AND covers. The Rapbasement tracklist is FAKE, and was fake from the beginning due to the producers not matching the proper track title, and the three disk idea being scrapped. This should be case closed by now. Someone put in a request to get this page locked. --Stephen1108 (talk) 08:21, 6 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

On ciara's official site it says,, the red cover is deluxe edition,, the purple is the standard. i'm going to flip them on th article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.253.108.106 (talk) 13:56, 6 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

if you want proof that the album wont be released on three discs see: http://blogs.vibe.com/rapidshare/2009/03/ciaras-fantasy-ride-um-so-where-is-it/ !!! (Lil-unique1 (talk) 14:45, 6 April 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Zomba Label had already released a tracklisting for the album back towards the December release of "Fantasy Ride", and due to the album being pushed, Amazon and etc. probably kept the same reference from the planned last year relese when much could have changed, and ciara stated herself, "THERE IS NO OFFICIAL TRACKLISTING RELEASED YET". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.253.102.146 (talk) 03:52, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unless I'm mistaken, I don't believe Amazon.com ever put up a track listing late last year; even if they did, "Go Girl" would have definitely been on that track listing from December. It's very unlikely Amazon.com has a track listing from five months ago. As it stands, the track listing is solid and is backed up by her official website. — Σxplicit 04:20, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Can someone put the tracks in a chart like the one from the evolution or the one from goodies? —Preceding unsigned comment added by TrEeMaNsHoE (talkcontribs) 20:26, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

NOPE in response to (talk, charts are NOT the appropriate format for tracklistings, see WP:albums. Should more information be made available we can consider using the template from In A Perfect World... but atr the moment based on the information we have this is the best format. (Lil-unique1 (talk) 23:22, 10 April 2009 (UTC))[reply]

AWEFUL COVER!! IS IT OFFICIAL!!??

[edit]

It is extremely hard to believe that Ciara picked such a B-quality cover for her new album... I mean just LOOK at it, it depicts her in front of cartonn-buildings surrounded by humourusly awful cartoonish letters... god it sucks... the album will certainly flop with such a cover... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.129.214.107 (talk) 21:41, 6 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

She added them to her website so they are official. SE KinG. User page. Talk. 23:05, 6 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Purpose of This Article

[edit]

Please can some fans and editors be reminded that wikipedia is supposed to be factual. The recent inclusion of opinions and speculation is not suitable for any article. Wikipedia is not a fansite nor is it a crystal ball.

I would like to take this opportunity to point some things out about this article:

  1. Might fans of ciara be reminded that decisions about the 3-disc theme were made public by billboard in March 2008 (1 year ago) BUT NEVER OFFICIALLY CONFIRMED. Later in 2008 during Ciara's controversial appearence with VIBE magazine she herself said that the idea was dropped and never realised.
  2. posting of multiple tracklistings is against wikipedia rules unless there is a valid reason (e.g. alternate international versions). See WP:albums if you are unsure. Fantasy Ride does not fall in this catagory.
  3. Wikipedia is not for speculation WP:crystal so it would be appreciated if people stop speculating about supposed singles (e.g. "Bubblgum") as there is no proof.
  4. Zomba and La Face run www.ciaraworld.com, the only OFFICIAL CIARA website. They have posted the new covers hence we know they are not fake. They also have a pre-order link which takes you to AMAZON's listing for fantasy ride. This means that the album track listing has been confirmed since they have approved Amazon's version of fantasy ride for sale. THEREFORE THIS IS THE OFFICIAL TRACK LISTING.
  5. if you are unhappy about the track-listing wikipedia is not the place to express this. The article should deal with facts. Please contact the label(s) if you are unhappy, wikipedia will have no influence over the album since it has already been mixed and will be released fully on May 5, 2009 WP:purpose
  6. please discuss the article if you are unhappy. do not just butcher or vandalise the artice.
  7. finally please do not use fansites such as "Rap-Basement" to verify false tracklistings,
i. especially not since ciara's official website has confirmed the amazon listing.
ii. fansites are not verifiable sources. see WP:external links for what constitutes appropriate links. (Lil-unique1 (talk) 16:27, 7 April 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Europe Bonus Tracks?

[edit]

Ciara confirmed on her twitter page that 'When I' and 'Pride' would be bonus tracks on the European edition of Fantasy Ride. Should we include this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.215.121.147 (talk) 02:05, 8 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Twitter isn't a reliable source. We'll have to wait until a retailer confirms any bonus tracks. — Σxplicit 02:20, 8 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Alternative coverart for UK CD?

[edit]

According to the HMV website - which is a UK record shop - the coverart for Fantasy Ride looks like this http://hmv.com/hmvweb/displayProductDetails.do?ctx=280;-1;-1;-1;-1&sku=899105 . Is this just a picture of Ciara or is it the coverart for Fantasy Rida in the UK? Thanks 83.71.30.184 (talk) 20:56, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well ciara's official website (ciaraworld.com) lists the two "super c" covers, (ciara in purple for standard edit, red for limited edition) so i guess we'll know for sure nearer the time. (Lil-unique1 (talk) 21:02, 11 April 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Controversy of Wiki Info Boxed for Albums

[edit]

Wikipedia Album Rules CLEARLY states that when you list the release date for an album the earliest one goes first because in reality fans can own the album from that day. Yes Fantasy Ride is unusual in that it will be released world-wide a day after the UK but nevertheless as it is released in the UK first, UK release date is the ONLY ONE listed in the box. (Lil-unique1 (talk) 18:04, 18 April 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Tracklisting Format

[edit]

There should be a tracklisting box. Why does someone keep changing it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by TrEeMaNsHoE (talkcontribs) 23:49, 19 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There shouldn't be, actually, because there isn't enough information to warrant the use of the {{tracklist}} template. — Σxplicit 01:54, 20 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I AGREE WITH Σ there is not enough information for a track-listing box. Plus you have simply duplicated the writers as the producers too. so what benefit does that serve? also WP:albums highly recommends a number-formatted list. Finally we do not know the exact producers/writers because the OFFICIAL credits have yet to be revealed. Your basing your track-list on rumours and fan-sites. Please observe the factuality of WIKIPEDIA and consider your reversions before making further ones. (Lil-unique1 (talk) 19:43, 25 April 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Tracklisting has now changed to table as there is more information available through billboard and itunes. the older numeric list was getting complicated with all of the additional guests etc. according to WP:albums the new table is appropriate and passes the test for suitability. (Lil-unique1 (talk) 20:31, 7 May 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Third Single Controversy

[edit]

here is some friendly advise from a fellow wikipedia editor.

  1. purpose of wikipedia is not provide encylcopedic information - that means FACTUAL.
  2. wikipedia rules clearly state that information should be sourced or referenced.

On a number of occassions edits were made to FANASTY RIDE without providing references. Furthermore factual revisions and edits which satisfied wikipedia quality standards were undone/deleted for edits which didnt.

This is counter-productive. Writing speculation and such as "work is intended to to be the third single" is completely irrelevant and infactual therefore has no place in the article. As a fan i have to admit that i hope "work" does get a release but PLEASE wait until it is officially announced as a single. Writing it in the discography and article before confirmation breaches wikipedia's policy of verifiability. (Lil-unique1 (talk) 16:23, 25 April 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Where's your proof for Tell Me What Your Name is being the next single. NO SPECULATING. PLUS. It isnt even the most popular song on iTunes. Still, you need proof. Add source. —Preceding unsigned comment added by TrEeMaNsHoE (talkcontribs) 00:25, 6 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The 3rd and 4th single additions quote Ciara's twitter account. I went to it, and read back 2 months, and Ciara only says "I know what my next single is!" Since that post is neither plural or stating what the singles are, the information should be removed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.141.118.82 (talk) 19:47, 14 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Can i point out that neither "Like A Surgeon" nor "Work" have been officially released nor confirmed for release. That is why the single pages were deleted because wikipedia is not crystal ball WP:crystal. Also according to WP:citations twitter, myspace, youtube etc. are not verifiable sources regardless. Therefore unless you can provide an official and WP:verifiable source for the dual release the information can and will be removed/challenged. Even if twitter was allowed as a source all Ciara mentioned, quote "i know what my next single is" - there is no mention of dual release. Please do not make reverts. Plus remember to provide a WP:edit summary. (Lil-unique1 (talk) 17:37, 17 May 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Ciara's twitter says "its time to go and 'work'" this in no way confirms the release of "work" as the third single. All that Twitter confirms is that ciara knows what her next single is and she met Melina to discuss the video for her as of yet undisclosed third single. Please wait until it specifically says "next single is...". Trying to foreshadow a single like this is a breach of wikipedia rules according to WP:crystal not to mention a factual inaccuracy.

I would like to draw your attention to several rule pages to prevent future messages like this: WP:Crystal,

Deletion of Concept and Themes section

[edit]

The article first talks about the three disc idea, then it says it was cancelled, which it was. So what's the point of it still being up there. Also at the end of the article, it talks about how shes preparing for the albums release. It was already released, e.g. unneeded. And what do you guys think about a chart performance section. I think itshould be deleted or at least shortened to needed things. Please leave comments -- --TrEeMaNsHoE (talk) 20:54, 10 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Musical style and content section removed

[edit]

I've removed the 'Musical style and content' section because the entire section is based on Ciara's MySpace page, which does not comply with our reliable source guideline. Not only that, but the information on that page won't stay there forever—how will it be verified in the future? The problem is, it won't be. If you plan to restore the section, make sure to back up everything from independent, reliable sources. Thank you. — Σxplicit 22:12, 19 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Album Review

[edit]

Who keeps putting the album review as varying from Negative to Positiveat the third paragraph. That is known, almost every review varies from negative to positive. It makes the album sound bad. And not only that that informaton doesn't fit as an introduction. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Stevenwazhere (talkcontribs) 13:37, 2 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

i actually disagree, metacritic rates the album as 63/100. if you look at reviews in the UK they have generally been very good but reviews in the US have been more negative particularly since US fans were more disappointed about the 3-disc theme being dropped. the comments do have a place in the introduction because they set the tone of the article. it is important that despite what individual edtiors feel about the quality of an album (for the record i love this album) the article must deal with fact. the fact is that this album has not been overlly successful in the commericial sence and generally it was not well-recieved. this is what the intro reflects.
