Deletion
[edit]In what way is this person notable or of significance? Just because he is a marquis? Not enough. If there's nothing more then I propose we delete. Contaldo80 (talk) 10:19, 5 July 2013 (UTC)
- Guidance suggests: "the person who is the topic of a biographical article should be "worthy of notice" – that is, "significant, interesting, or unusual enough to deserve attention or to be recorded". Being a minor noble is not significant in itself. Contaldo80 (talk) 09:42, 11 July 2013 (UTC)
- Wherever you read that guidance I'm sure that it doesn't say that that is a reason for speedy deletion. And in the 18th century Marquesses were important people. Phil Bridger (talk) 10:47, 11 July 2013 (UTC)
- Do you have a source please for that claim? "Important" sounds fairly subjective. Are we really to endow every last branch of the minor hereditary nobility with their own article for having done nothing more than to be born the son of the last titled peer? I tried to create an article a little while back on Prince Jonathan Doria-Pamphili - and I was told in no undcertaing terms that he was not notable and the page was deleted. - The point is that this is not eligible for speedy deletion, as I have already said above with deliberate emphasis on "speedy". If you want to discuss whether it should be deleted in the normal, non-speedy, manner then the procedure to follow is described at WP:AFD. Phil Bridger (talk) 14:32, 11 July 2013 (UTC)
- To be honest I struggle somewhat with some of these procedures. Not sure I've got the time to wade through lots of guidance. The point is that the subject of this article has done nothing notable. You may also want to note that the creator of this article recently tried to create about a dozen articles about people with the Paolucci surname. None of them were vaguely notable. Struck me as odd.
