Not the gun
[edit]that's not the gun... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.84.233.199 (talk) 04:58, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
The revolver and the rifle
[edit]Actually it is the revolver what Nagant is best known for, at least in Russia. For a very long period of time the word "nagant" was synonymous with "revolver" or "handgun" in general. My Dad still called any handgun "nagant".
His contribution to the rifle, quite the contrary, is not widely known, and actually it was less then significant (cartridge clip, magazine spring design and other secondary parts), so I doubt that the statement "probably best known for their important contributions to the design of the Mosin-Nagant Russian service rifle, adopted in 1891" is correct... he was and is best known for the revolver not the rifle. - 95.79.210.171 (talk) 08:02, 25 November 2010 (UTC)
Lists of Nagant products
[edit]I found this website and it led me to the original Nagant rifle [1]. I hope any good explanation would be helpful. (and by the looks of it, it does look like this 1887 rifle is crucial for the development of the Mosin-Nagant). Komitsuki (talk) 16:55, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
