qualifer 2 lichess?
[edit]Where is qualifier 2 plzzzzz? Thewriter006 (talk) 01:11, 26 September 2022 (UTC)
- I put in Lichess qualifier 2 along with the scores that Lichess gave in their knockout tree. They did not include draws in their scores, so someone might want to correct the scores by including draws. Also, there was apparently some technical trouble with the first Lichess qualifier, so the semis and final were delayed until October 1.--72.180.14.198 (talk) 02:19, 26 September 2022 (UTC)
- Hooray thanks! :D Thewriter006 (talk) 02:42, 26 September 2022 (UTC)

- on qualifier 2 it should specify Sam Sevian v Gabriel Bick, not Nijat Abasov (seems a mix up between the two qualifiers). 82.25.18.55 (talk) 16:40, 3 October 2022 (UTC)
- nice job. you should've just edited yourself man/girl. i edited it now. good to know there were indeed more non-wikipedia page chess peeps in these tournaments. Thewriter006 (talk) 17:55, 3 October 2022 (UTC)

Magnus is not the world champion. (I didn't remove anything.)
[edit]TL;DR I didn't remove that Magnus is world chess champion, but in qualification method I described Magnus as runner-up.
In 'qualification method', I described Magnus as simply the 2019 World Fischer Random Chess Championship runner-up, same as 2021 World Championship runner-up for Ian Nepomniachtchi in Candidates Tournament 2022. In page 1 of the regulations https://handbook.fide.com/files/handbook/FRCCRegulations2022.pdf , Magnus is described as 'The World (Classical Chess) Champion'. But this is problematic: Magnus as the world classical chess champion does not necessarily have business in the world fischer random chess championship. Otherwise, why not have Wesley automatically in the 2020 and 2022 chess candidates? So, I'm just guessing the FIDE mistakenly omitted that Magnus is the runner-up and meant to describe Magnus as additionally the world classical chess champion.
I also added that Magnus is the runner-up in the 'The four directly seeded players (...)' part. I'd even want to remove that Magnus is the classical chess champion but I have a feeling I'll get overruled, so eh whatever that can stay. Wesley rules, and Magnus sucks. >;) Thewriter006 (talk) 17:03, 2 October 2022 (UTC)
- OMG GOOD NEWS!!! https://fide.com/news/2024 here magnus is described simply as '2019 World Fischer Random Chess Championship runner-up' !!! woohoo!!!! wonder if this is strange or not really btw: FIDE uses 100% the exact description I put on wikipedia 17:03, 2 October 2022 (UTC): '2019 World Fischer Random Chess Championship runner-up'. Hmmm...i guess no strange at all. lol. Thewriter006 (talk) 20:26, 3 October 2022 (UTC)
Should all the Russian flags become FIDE?
[edit]I notice the latest revision changed only some of the Russian flags to FIDE flags. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=FIDE_World_Fischer_Random_Chess_Championship_2022&type=revision&diff=1114472635&oldid=1113926022 Thewriter006 (talk) 09:36, 8 October 2022 (UTC)

can we just do a new style for the tiebreaks at least for the qualifiers?
[edit]no 6(1) vs 6(3) like sergey vs magnus (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Chess_Championship_2016) and not the meltwater 2 boxes thing (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Champions_Chess_Tour_2021#FTX_Crypto_Cup) just do SpyroeBM's style of combining the scores. not like anyone cares about 9LX enough to care if it's 2 boxes or not?

Include 5th and 7th place?
[edit]Can we include 5th and 7th place? I notice we're including only 1st and 3rd place for after the group stage Thewriter006 (talk) 23:52, 25 October 2022 (UTC)
Daily summaries
[edit]The information is fine, but this needs some re-writing to remove run-on sentences etc. It also needs to be sourced better, but that may not be really possible without using youtube or some other unreliable source. Wastrel Way (talk) Eric Wastrel Way (talk) 18:27, 29 October 2022 (UTC)
