Confusion about the Product's Supposed Effect
[edit]The television advertising promises "enlargement" and "male enhancement" but does not state specifically any part of the human anatomy. This is left up to the target audience to form their own impression. Also, it does not indicate whether enlargement is temporary, i.e., three to ten minutes, etc., or permanent. Nothing is specifically promised. Mydogtrouble (talk) 12:51, 14 January 2009 (UTC)
The website after redirection includes the following: "What will ExtenZe Do For Me? Enlarge your penis and erection. Give you harder, more frequent erections. Give you more intense orgasms. Make your erections last longer. Makes getting an erection easier and more reliable. Enhance desire, power, pleasure and performance. Overall sex life improvement and penile sensitivity." The ExtenZe Website
[edit][redacted].com/ a website advertised on television, will redirect an internet browser to this site: [redacted].com/ Only free trials are offered at that site at the time of this writing. A credit card is required for online acquisition of sample (shipping, handling). Telephone numbers are also provided.
There is also a site [redacted].net/ that will take orders and lists prices.Mydogtrouble (talk) 16:26, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
The website indicates that one tablet or capsule is the recommended daily dose.Mydogtrouble (talk) 12:57, 14 January 2009 (UTC)
A list of ingredients is not found on the website. Third party websites may contain a list of ingredients. Mydogtrouble (talk) 13:24, 14 January 2009 (UTC)
What is the general rule about removing a company's website from an article or discussion page? I am unsure how to write several notable and informative points into the article such as: the advertised website does not exist per se (it redirects to another one), the company has many names besides "Dish Direct" and "Maximizer Health", and the odd fact that the television ads refuse to "sell" the product (free trials) which strikes me as VERY weird and probably notable: not only will the purveyors not say what it "does" they refuse to "sell" it on TV! Yet they in effect do. All that is verifiable. Here's what I don't know how to write:"the company goes to exceptional lengths to hide from scrutiny" so all those other facts may be the only way to transmit the valid verifiable information. - In case you are asking why I redacted your various Extenze links from the talk page, it was because they look like spam links. I know you are not a spammer and that was not their purpose, but that's how they appear to anyone wandering by. As to links in the article, WP:EL supports a single link to the subject company's site, but as you point out it looks like 'extenze.com' has been hijacked to redirect to someone else's sales site. If someone from Extenze complained, I suppose we could restore the article link, but with a clear warning as to what was going to happen. The other points you want to make sound like they would require citation so as not to look like original research. Regards, CliffC (talk) 12:55, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
- It (website redirect) has been that way for so long a time I think it's not a hijack, it's a deliberate redirect. Which may lend credence to "exceptional lengths" (groan) to avoid scrutiny. But I shan't quibble. Regards, Mydogtrouble (talk) 19:56, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
Ingredients
[edit]This label appears the correct one but I have not completely verified this. [redacted].com Note the zinc and DHEA. I hope I am not being biased in presuming a high likelihood these two ingredients are the only ones to have a perceptible effect. I have strong bias against the advertising of these products although I try to keep the bias in check here at Wikipedia. I am unsure how to make permalinks, verify the label, and I don't know HTML.Mydogtrouble (talk) 17:20, 6 January 2009 (UTC)

neutrality
[edit]few positive comments. focuses on the negatives. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.110.20.83 (talk) 01:35, 26 July 2009 (UTC)
- You (and everyone else) are encouraged to seek out and add to the article all the positive material you can gather from reliable sources. Let's give it a month before we take the POV tag off. --CliffC (talk) 02:21, 26 July 2009 (UTC)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Companies/Guidelines should be used. The guide may be ill-prepared to deal with the Extenze entity, however. Mydogtrouble (talk) 07:11, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
For Women?
[edit]It seems to be advertising itself as a female viagra. Anything to add to this article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.73.70.113 (talk) 02:33, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
- It would be a valid addition if someone verified this.Mydogtrouble (talk) 07:14, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
- Agreed. If someone comes up with a published reliable source that makes this statement and doesn't want to edit the article, post the link here and someone will likely work it in. --CliffC (talk) 12:11, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
- Ugh. How do you reference infomercials that play nightly across cable TV? They are certainly advertising it for women, there is an infomercials in front of me right now (on the G4 channel, fwiw). 71.145.155.3 (talk) 10:39, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
More information about lead
[edit]Do any of you have more sources about the lead poisoning / lead content that was in earlier extenze formula. Was it because of a certain ingredients or was it because of poor suppliers? Please leave message on my talk page. Sp0 (talk) 13:14, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
2010 California Class action lawsuit, N. Carolina racing, lawsuit dramas
[edit]In 2010 a new class action lawsuit, Williams, et al. v. Biotab Nutraceuticals, Inc. http://www.extenzesettlement.com/ Law firm began advertising for wronged parties. "On May 29, 2009, Plaintiffs filed a Complaint alleging that the Defendants violated California's Unfair Competition Law, the California Consumer Legal Remedies Act, and various "common law" duties to provide consumers with accurate and truthful advertising. In other words, Plaintiffs claim that Defendants' advertising of ExtenZe violated those laws." - quote
Someone might want to also determine relevancy of the sponsorship of the Nascar team and the conflict (lawsuit[s]) resulting: http://www.scenedaily.com/news/articles/sprintcupseries/Front_Row_sues_former_driver_Kevin_Conway_Extenze_over_portion_of_54_million_sponsorship_deal.html It is out of my field of expertise.
