Suggestion

[edit]

rather than having 36 different country headings, perhaps we could group by continent? LibStar (talk) 08:15, 13 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

In the same vein, I suggest the content be put into a table format. It would save space and be more useful to readers. --Nfr-Maat (talk) 23:26, 18 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

"United Statians"

[edit]

It is an outrage and improper for it to say anything other than "American" to describe Americans. Please fix this racist anti-American remark.--24.171.6.27 (talk) 18:31, 20 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Afghans in UAE

[edit]

This source Gulf News which I think is OK suggests 300,000 Afghans in UAE. Should we use this figure and source? (Msrasnw (talk) 10:58, 23 December 2012 (UTC))[reply]

I agree. LibStar (talk) 12:42, 23 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Austrian

[edit]

I wonder why you do not list Austrians in your list. The Austrian community is big in the UAE and their are over 500 brand names (Austrian Companies) present in the UAE, regards Dieter — Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.72.80.36 (talk) 05:45, 24 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Joshua Project

[edit]

Joshua Project is not reliable [1]. Also, not sure where the "non-citizen Arabs" phrasing is coming from. Middayexpress (talk) 16:50, 29 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure it's helpful to replace Joshua Project figures with unsourced ones, however. With this edit, for example, you replaced a figure of 125,000 Syrians sourced to the Joshua Project with an unsourced figure of 200,000. Can you provide a source for that, Middayexpress? Otherwise, I would just delete the figure pending a reliable source being found. Cordless Larry (talk) 17:43, 4 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, what I did was revert to the previous version. Joshua Project isn't a reliable source either way. Regards, Middayexpress (talk) 17:49, 4 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, sorry, I didn't realise that's what you'd done. I agree on the Joshua Project, from what I've seen of it. Cordless Larry (talk) 17:52, 4 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
No prob. Middayexpress (talk) 18:29, 4 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Lede

[edit]

You keep reverting my edits to 'Expatriates in the UAE'. If you continue, you may be blocked for violating the 3RR rule. Please take this to the talk page of the article or lets discuss this here. There is no point in listing every continent and region in that opening paragraph. As can be seen in the article, most of the expats in the country are from Asia, Europe, Africa and America. No need to add South east asia, Central Asia, South Africa, Australia, Antartica, etc etc. 192.43.227.18 (talk) 09:51, 29 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Actually ip, you initially changed the lede without discussion much less consensus. Given this, I've restored the original. Middayexpress (talk) 16:57, 29 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

NPOV Dispute

[edit]

This section cites the state-owned UAE newspaper, where it makes a statement saying that UAE native citizens would rather accept government welfare benefits than find jobs. I'm not sure that a government-owned newspaper is an appropriate source to back up a statement like this, or at least feel that it shouldn't be the only source. 65.112.10.54 (talk) 07:50, 3 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Turn this page into a table

[edit]

I think this page is no more than a data-page for nationalities distribution within UAE. I think it would be fine to turn this into a table. Objections? Please ping me by {{re|Alexander Davronov}} to notify me about this thread. AXONOV (talk) 17:10, 16 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

2,490,000 westerners figure is false.

[edit]

It’s false and unsourced - can anyone find the actual number and change it? 222Boarbot78 (talk) 21:13, 31 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
