Application name
[edit]was this application named after someone named Vincent? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.251.113.163 (talk) 2007-04-18T07:41:29 (UTC)
gpdf should be made as a separate page since its not the same as Evince, even if it did replace it. ZyMOS 05:38, 29 April 2007 (UTC)
- Actually the list of developers is now in the article and none of them are named Vincent. The word Evince means "to conquer entirely". - Ahunt (talk) 20:03, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

Open XPS
[edit]Page Open_XML_Paper_Specification#Third-party_support states that Evince can open XPS documents. If it's true, we should add it to the "Supported document formats" section. 62.61.41.235 (talk) 09:29, 12 October 2012 (UTC)
- Good point - the ref cited already supports adding that, so I have put in in the lead and lower down in the list of formats as well. - Ahunt (talk) 10:23, 12 October 2012 (UTC)
Outdated Images
[edit]Evince now has a new icon and a new design, so it would be preferable to replace those in the article. --TheLazyDog (talk) 20:19, 13 December 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks for your note here. The icon used on the official web page seems to be the same as the one in the Wikipedia article, although the "help about" in version 3.14.1 seems to have a different logo. I have updated the screenshot to 3.14.1. - Ahunt (talk) 01:19, 14 December 2014 (UTC)
Application name
[edit]The official application name is Document viewer now. Document viewer is listed as an alternative name, but that's the wrong name around – Evince is the alternative name. -- tk (talk) 10:24, 12 April 2024 (UTC)
