The first paragraphs should say something about "what's the point" / why these were invented. What are they good for, etc. So the rest of the article can be understood in some context.
What do these do that's potentially better? Use less energy? less bandwidth? process information faster? etc.
(From the first table, it looks like maybe the effective framerate is the most dramatic advantage?)
