I am inproficient in aviation. That's why, anyone like me can only guess that's the mechanism is similar. Especially reading such words "...a pin will be pulled from a squib containing compressed gas and the slide will inflate..."
- as I understand, a squib is a small explosive, which exerts a lot of gas pressure when ignited. And all the gas is used for the evacuation slide inflation.
which is exactly similar to an airbag
- or, a squib is used to pierce a seal of some container with pressurized gas.
IMHO more detains sould be added to this section of article
As its read from article, its rather "fire extinguisher". With a gas compressed ina container. But anyway its interesting to know, why a mechanism similar to airbag is not in use. GK tramrunner (talk) 01:17, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
Evacuation chute ...
[edit]... should probably redirect to this article. The term is used in English speaking media and seems to refer to evacuation slides. If there is a differcence betwenn evacuation chutes and evacuation slides, this article should explain this difference.--ペーター (talk) 04:36, 14 July 2013 (UTC)
