ethel pics
[edit]i think it's better to have a solo pic of ethel for a while (the previous one) until someone can get a better picture of her. i know it's hard to get a good pic of her, but because the other characters have their own solo pic, i suggest we use the old one for a while. HoneyBee
ethel infatuation
[edit]the article currently says "she had a huge infatuation with Jughead Jones for reasons that have never been made clear". A reason was made clear in her first appearance in Archie's Pal, Jughead No. 84. I quote the dialogue from pages 2-3 where Ethel is talking to Dilton who is working on an "electronic brain" that does computer date matching:
- Ethel: Nice fella, that Jughead! I'm not too sure though if he's really my type!
- Ethel: Hey Dilly! Is your mate selector working yet?
- Dilton: Yes, Ethel! It never misses!
- Ethel: Try it on me, huh? Find me the perfect Guy!
- Dilton: Very well! First I'll fill out this punch card for you..
(four panels later)
- Dilton: Well, well! Of all the students in this school, the perfect mate for you is Jughead Jones!
- Ethel: O-O-O-o o —Preceding unsigned comment added by Betty Marshall (talk • contribs) 05:10, 2 November 2010 (UTC)

running gag
[edit]In the 1970's Archie cartoon series- a running gag was Ethel chasing Jughead and never catching him! In the contemporary cartoon series "Sabrina the teenage Witch"-Sabrina accidentally turns Big Moose into a human computer-and Ethel does catch Jughead!
This needs to be updated. Ethel has a superhero alter ego called The Big E, modeled after Jughead's Captain Hero. She was introduced in Jughead Jones Double Digest 175. She transforms into this character by spraying on some of her special cologne, coincidentally the same hamburger-scented perfume she uses to attract Jughead. Together, they fought a villain calling himself Rebound, eventually defeating him, even though The Big E's attempts at helping Captain Hero resulted in her getting in his way. ~~Cee — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.252.70.122 (talk) 04:28, 28 January 2012 (UTC)
