Both Chinnock and Brown give the name of the collector of the type specimen as "J. Macdonald Stuart", Mueller gave the name "J. Macd. Stuart". It was John McDouall Stuart who "led five expeditions from Adelaide, South Australia, north across the country, between 1858 and 1862". He collected plant specimens now housed in the British Museum and the National Herbarium of Victoria.[1]
