Pollution and health section

[edit]

I am new to wikipedia and as part of a class I am enrolled in I will be making contributions to wikipedia. I am particularly interested in health issues and I think that a section discussing the health effects of the environmental issues, specifically water pollution, could enhance the quality of this article. Especially since there are a lot of infectious diseases that originate from environmental issues. Jmarrs94 (talk) 01:24, 4 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

"Durban's dam"???

[edit]

I live ~30 km away from Durban, aka, Ethekwini. Umgeni Water/Amanzi draws not from one single dam, but from 12 dams:

On the whole this article needs a lot of work. Much of the information is badly outdated and therefore factually incorrect.

And no, I'm not editing it, because the last time I tried to help out here on WP, with spelling and grammar edits, I got growled at. 197.169.55.40 (talk) 06:54, 7 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A question of South or Southern Africa

[edit]

I am part of a group of people editing climate change articles on Wikipedia, it seems like this article focuses on South African specific environmental issues in the article despite the lead mentioning other countries in Southern Africa. I would like to correct this and propose that the lead and the title refer only to South Africa, which will reflect the contents. The other alternative is to broaden the topics covered to include other countries.

Change the title to Environmental Issues in South Africa

[edit]

I think that the title is misleading because most of the article refers to environmental issues in South Africa and not Southern Africa. I would like to propose that it should be changed to Environmental Issues in South Africa. Sarisha86 (talk) 15:18, 25 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Sarisha86, I think it's better to broaden the content to fit the article title. Broader articles get more views than narrow ones. :-) EMsmile (talk) 10:04, 28 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I agree! Sarisha86 (talk) 14:50, 28 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
