I am a undergraduate student at Rice University majoring in sociology. I am interested in public health issues, education, and race and ethnicity issues. I hope to make many meaningful contributions to Wikipedia as well as gain insight into the subjects that I edit. I am currently enrolled in SOCI 394 at Rice University where I will either be writing a new article or heavily editing an existing article on Wikipedia.

[edit]Education in the Dominican Republic:
This is currently a stub article on Wikipedia that is severely lacking in large amounts of information. This article is currently labelled as “mid-importance” by the Wikiproject Caribbean and is labelled as “high-importance” by the WikiProject Education. Thus, I believe that is a great candidate for my Wikiproject this semester. Currently, the page only discusses the different school grades that are available in the Dominican Republic and the literacy rates. I would like to add information on how the Dominican Republic’s education system ranks in the world, the availability and ease of access to public schooling in the Dominican Republic, information on the education system and the laws that govern it, as well as inequality in the education that is provided to different students.
