Trance
The trance INFLUENCES are only in their debut album, and by now we are at their fourth album, that is like the other two influenced by drum and bass (and NOT trance). The source used for the genre in the template speaks about trance sounds into their hardcore punk style in Take to the Skies, and doesn't say nothing about Enter Shikari being a trance band, neither about the other three albums. Can I remove that from the template?--Zack Tartufo (talk) 12:37, 10 January 2015 (UTC)
- Wouldn't it be better to tag the genre with "(early)" instead?----MASHAUNIX 00:21, 11 January 2015 (UTC)
- No, like I said before the source talks about trance sounds, not that the band is (or was) a trance band. We can without doubt talk about the trance influences in the page, but we can't say that Enter Shikari is a trance band. --Zack Tartufo (talk) 18:31, 12 January 2015 (UTC)
- But couldn't it be said that their first album "fuses post-hardcore and trance"? In that case a trance tag would be relevant.----MASHAUNIX 18:55, 12 January 2015 (UTC)
- The parameter in the template is used to define the genre of the band, not to say that 1/4 of their production is influenced by trance. If so, you should add drum and bass, dubstep, indie rock, post-rock and all the genres that they are influenced by. --Zack Tartufo (talk) 18:06, 13 January 2015 (UTC)
- You're right. The sources cited here seem to indicate that Enter Shikari's style is rooted in post-hardcore, but adds elements from a number of other genres in the fashion of electronicore. I've changed the infobox and lead section to reflect this.--MASHAUNIX 17:56, 14 January 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks. It's nice to see that there are even rational and helpful users here on en.wiki such as yourself, it was a pleasure discourse with you. --Zack Tartufo (talk) 19:41, 14 January 2015 (UTC)
