Fair use rationale for Image:Coat arms Tunisia.gif

[edit]

Image:Coat arms Tunisia.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 06:26, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ennahdha

[edit]

Ennahdha Party is rather more than a "rather common misspelling". It is the name the party uses for itself in English[1] and its URL uses nahdha, though the BBC uses Ennahda[2] --Rumping (talk) 21:56, 25 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Name in English

[edit]

Should this redirect to Ennahdha Party , given the comment above? If not, does this translate better to 'renaissance' or to 're-birth'? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.223.13.73 (talk) 11:22, 26 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move

[edit]
The following discussion is an archived discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: Moved to Ennahda Movement by RJFF. Alpha_Quadrant (talk) 19:28, 6 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Renaissance PartyRenaissance Movement – In Arabic, it is Harakat an-Nahda, not Hizb an-Nahda (see Ettajdid Movement). Therefore, Renaissance Movement seems like a more appropriate name. — ABJIKLAM (t · c) 23:30, 30 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

As suggested above, shouldn't this rather be at some variant of "Ennahda"? I've usually seen this party referred to by its Arabic name. Ucucha (talk) 20:47, 31 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I second Ennahda or Ennahda Movement as the most common terms in English-language media/publications. Regards --RJFF (talk) 21:41, 31 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Agree with RJFF that rather Ennahda should be used (with or without "Movement"). —Filippusson (t.) 21:52, 31 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Well Ennahda is already used so it would have to be Ennahda Movement. Now another question comes to mind: do we use Ennahda or Ennahdha? The letter ض is usually transliterated as d, but is pronounced dh among Tunisians. I don't know which is more common in the media. — ABJIKLAM (t · c) 22:17, 31 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I add my voice to the others, Ennahda Movement is more common and therefore more appropriate. Regarding the "dh vs d" question, I think that the standard adopted for this varies some use "dh" to express "ض" others use is to express "ذ" or "ظ" and then those who confuse the three. I think we should keep it "d" since getting into the transliteration details with their regional variations just adds confusion as there are no clear-cut standards. Further more "d" fits the pronunciation without the additional "h". Tachfin (talk) 05:21, 1 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Regarding the unanimous discussion contributions, I have done it the quick way. I hope that no one will object. Kind regards --RJFF (talk) 14:13, 2 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No longer Islamist

[edit]

According to this, this, this and this, Ennahda no longer defines itself as an Islamist party, but rather a "conservative" or even a "Muslim democrat" party, in a similar fashion to the Turkish AK Party, I assume.

I think this should replace the "Islamist" label in the article; in other words, a major revision of the whole article is needed. Though, of course we should include that the party was Islamist until 2016.

Requested move 4 March 2020

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

Ennahdha MovementEnnahda Movement – Unfortunately, the page was moved without discussion, at the supposedly uncontroversial technical request of User:HapHaxion. The reason was that this were the "official spelling used by the party". However, the Wikipedia policy for article titles does not necessarily prefer official names. Instead, the policy is to use the most common name of the subject used in independent, reliable English-language sources. Both in news media and in academic publications, the prevalent spelling is "Ennahda", without 'h' after the 'd'. See e.g. Google News, Books, Scholar. Therefore, the move should be undone. RJFF (talk) 17:05, 4 March 2020 (UTC) Relisting. BegbertBiggs (talk) 20:37, 11 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The article itself also uses the "Ennahdha" spelling throughout. Either way, the name used in the title (whatever it may be) should be harmonized with what is in the article. So if it is changed back to Ennahda, all instances of the name in the article need to be changed as well. HapHaxion (talk / contribs) 07:08, 7 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The spelling "Ennahda" was used all over the article, until User:TK Ennahdha changed it unilaterally with this edit ("minor spelling changes"). --RJFF (talk) 18:32, 16 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ennahda MovementEnnahda – I don't see much reason to include movement in the title. See [3] and [4] for example. The French wiki has Ennahda without movement. Thepharoah17 (talk) 23:34, 27 July 2021 (UTC) — Relisting. Bada Kaji (talk • श्रीमान् गम्भीर) 15:27, 24 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
