First Sentence of Company Description
[edit]I'm sorry if this is wrong, but the first sentence appears to have been taken directly from the Energy Vault website. Since it appears very enthusiastic (especially the whole part about "transforming") and not exactly neutral, should it be rewritten? Scfreiburg09 (talk) 18:43, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
- Okay, it seems to have been fixed while I was still busy writing this. My bad. Scfreiburg09 (talk) 18:55, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
Advertisement-style first paragraph
[edit]It looks like the first paragraph was already reverted once and then replaced again.
Here's the older, more concise and Wikipedia-like text from https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Energy_Vault&diff=1047453534&oldid=1047042456
Energy Vault is a Swiss-based, global energy storage company specializing in gravity and kinetic energy based, long-duration energy storage products. Energy Vault’s primary product is a gravity battery using a multi-headed crane to store energy by stacking heavy blocks made of composite material into a tower, capturing potential energy in the elevation gain of the blocks. When demand for electricity is high, the crane lowers these blocks to the ground, with the motors functioning as generators and delivering electricity to the grid. - It looks like User:Annapiccioni (director of marketing for Energy Vault) is actively using this article for advertising to gain funding. I've put in an article protection request to try and curb this. Snickerdoooodle (talk) 20:47, 26 March 2022 (UTC)
Wikipedia is not a tool to advertise your company.
[edit]User:Annapiccioni, I would like to warn you against using Wikipedia edits to advertise for Energy Vault. This is a conflict of interest and is a violation of Wikipedia's terms of use. Please tone down the advertising-speak in your edits. Wiki articles are meant to be informational only, not an ad-read. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Snickerdoooodle (talk • contribs) 20:59, 26 March 2022 (UTC)
This company has controversy
[edit]On top of the founder of the company trying to use Wikipedia as an advertising ground for their project, it's worth noting that this company has a lot of controversy around it. I don't know if there's enough to add a section about it, but I think it's worth considering.
