These are not named Bus Mallets, the Proper Name for this device is an Emergency Exit Glass Pick.
They are most commonly found on Public transport. And Not all countries have legal obligations to fix these within the bus.
HUD, a Motor Vehicle Accessories Company located in the United States, are one of the Major Produces of these "life saving" devices.
