Cleanup
[edit]This article could use some cleanup. Things to do:
- Reword the "how to" portions to be be more encyclopedic.
- Remove some of the essay-like turns of phrase.
- Build out detailed, illustrated articles on each class of stitches and link them in as "main" references as they are written.
- Done, more or less using a uniform structure, still need tweaks:
- Backstitch
- Buttonhole stitch
- Chain stitch
- Couching (embroidery) including laid work
- Cross stitches (contrast with cross-stitch, see Talk:Cross stitches}
- Satin stitch
- To do:
Feather stitch (including fly stitch)Done - PKM 19:12, 4 July 2007 (UTC)Knotted stitchDone, and also straight stitch, which completes the set. - PKM 20:28, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
- Done, more or less using a uniform structure, still need tweaks:
- Build a library of stitch illustrations in the Commons in category:embroidery stitches
- Add illustrations. I would really like colored photos of a mixed-stitch sampler and a crewel-style embroidery made with many different stitches - if you can provide such a thing, please do! - PKM 22:16, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
French Knot
[edit]I have deleted the unencyclopedic "how-to" content which may also contains personal references. It can be seen [1]. - PKM 17:16, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
