Volunteer Jam Appearance(s)
[edit]Elvin Bishop played at least one of Charlie Daniels' Volunteer Jams. Google search finds a 1980 Volunteer Jam setlist and this CDB Facebook memory with photo. It would be nice in the popular paragraph about the link with CDB to mention this.
FWIW growing up in Nashville, the Charlie Daniels' annual Volunteer Jam was something to look forward to each year. The array of musicians who appeared is quite impressive.

Untitled
[edit]The article stated that Bishop grew up on a farm "without electricity or running water." My father knew Bishop in college; a good friend of his dated Bishop. He tells me "I do not believe the no running water part... I think I would have heard about it." Feel free to put it back in if it can be confirmed, obviously.68.84.128.134 18:04, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
Paul Butterfield's Band
[edit]It says he joined Paul Butterfield's band in 1963, remained with them for 9 years and then went solo in 1968?? That is only 5 years later. Did he leave the band in 1968, or continue playing with them till 1972. If he was still in the band, maybe it needs rewording? 217.171.129.75 (talk) 21:21, 16 September 2008 (UTC)

Family murdered?
[edit]None of the three references about the murder of Mr Bishop's family members are usable. I know the story is true because I remember it (although I am British, my children went to High School in Concord California). Can anybody help by providing working links as references, please? By working, I mean not "404: Not found" HTML errors, or a complete rather than a partial book reference. ChrisJBenson (talk) 00:06, 16 April 2014 (UTC)
