Is there a point in listing all the dorms? Most college pages on wikipedia do not do this... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128m6 (talk • contribs) 22:23, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
- Some do, some have separate articles. That's what I'm building up to. --MPD01605 (T / C) 22:44, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
Martin Ritt? Not Alumnus
The article lists Martin Ritt under the Alumni section. Technically this is incorrect, considering Martin Ritt never actually graduated. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.19.54.100 (talk) 13:18, 2 October 2006
- Ok, take him out? --MPD01605 (T / C) 15:04, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
- Being an alumnus means you matriculated, not just graduated, so if Martin Ritt attended the university this is not incorrect. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2606:A000:8085:1100:EC3A:5B8A:A28E:155F (talk) 02:31, 16 November 2017 (UTC)
I don't know if anyone else noticed this but, the flag of Ohio is put next to Florida, and I believe that its Florida's flag next to Ohio. Someone might want to change that and I don't really know how or feel like doing it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.29.213.93 (talk) 03:18, 8 November 2006
Fair use rationale for Image:ElonPhoenix.JPG
Image:ElonPhoenix.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Fighting Christians
The origin of the Elon nickname "Fighting Christians" is unclear. I just corrected the entry to reflect that the name was in use in the 1920s (earlier than was initially suggested). The teams were called the "Christians" during the mid-1920s, with "Fighting" added later on. See the Elon College student newspaper from October 3, 1923 for the first use of "Fighting Christians" that I could find: http://library.digitalnc.org/cdm/compoundobject/collection/newspapers/id/86039/rec/3. It was originally a Christian University. --Godisgood737 (talk) 15:34, 2 June 2014 (UTC)

Edit war to add "American" to lede sentence
Jax 0677 has begun an edit war to insert "American" into the lede sentence of this article. That seems to be completely unnecessary and isn't included in virtually any of the other articles about colleges and universities in the U.S. (I don't think nationality is commonly included in articles about institutions on other countries, either, but I don't usually edit them so I won't claim familiarity with them). ElKevbo (talk) 20:08, 24 June 2020 (UTC)
- Reply - It is helpful to users to know in which country any facility is located. Musical ensembles are referred to by their country, not by their state nor province. --Jax 0677 (talk) 20:56, 24 June 2020 (UTC)
- The location is clearly identified in the sentence already; it even has its own article that is linked from the sentence in case readers really want to know more.
- And why did you begin an edit war over this instead of opening a discussion after another editor reverted your first edit? ElKevbo (talk) 21:02, 24 June 2020 (UTC)
- Reply - Sorry about that. Would "Elon University is a private university in Elon, North Carolina United States" be acceptable? --Jax 0677 (talk) 21:21, 24 June 2020 (UTC)
- Still seems unnecessary but not a bad compromise.
- If you're up to it, this seems like a wider discussion that should be had for all similar articles. WT:UNI would be a good place to begin it. ElKevbo (talk) 21:33, 24 June 2020 (UTC)

Minor edit
I removed this - "and about 41% of students are male" - from the Student section. Surely anyone reading this article should be able to figure out a percentage.
