Welcome and thanks
[edit]Nmg27510, welcome to Wikipedia and thanks for fixing the broken links on the yearbook archive. All the best, Jweiss11 (talk) 04:41, 14 July 2012 (UTC)
Thank you for joining us!
[edit]I see you just joined up, and added yourself to WikiProject North Carolina, excellent!! It has been very underserved, with only a few of us focusing on NC articles. Feel free to drop me a line anytime if you have questions or issues. Some of the policies here are not very intuitive, but I've been here for years and I'm an admin, so I can clear up any confusion (hopefully) or just point you in the right direction if you need. Glad to have you here. Dennis Brown - 2¢ © Join WER 13:52, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
...and a very welcome addition you are. Looking forward to your contributions as I see from your userpage that they will be quality. If we may be of any help just let us know. Welcome aboard.You won't find North Carolinians faster than to comment at the barbecue page.

Thanks! Looking forward to helping add to and improve North Carolina entries. I also wanted to make myself available to other Wikipedians who need a hand tracking down sources for their own work. I know that Wikipedia has been doing a lot to reach out to librarians lately and we (speaking for my colleagues) are happy to help! Nmg27510 (talk) 14:13, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
- Feel free to be bold and add content. The policy on notability can be a bit confusing, so I recommend starting any article in a sandbox and moving it after it has enough polish on it. Contact either Berean Hunter or I to show you how if you need, it isn't hard at all, and best for any new articles. We have recently added a number of new NC articles that need beefing up. I have recently created North Carolina Wine Festival, Red slaw and of course you saw Barbecue in North Carolina. I tend to focus on cultural articles like those, and Pigs in the City, Lexington Barbecue Festival, etc. I think those give flavor and depth the encyclopedia. I'm no academic, so any help adding material, in particular the history, is deeply appreciated. Barbecue in Texas is a good example to look at, but I think we can do better since the history goes back to the birth of the nation itself. Dennis Brown - 2¢ © Join WER 14:42, 8 August 2012 (UTC)

Your draft article, User:Nmg27510/sandbox
[edit]Hello, Nmg27510. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "sandbox".
The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply {{db-afc}}

2019 US Banknote Contest
[edit]US Banknote Contest | ||
---|---|---|
November-December 2019 | ||
There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons. In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate. If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here |
