A few thoughts

[edit]

This is a nice article: well-structured, properly sourced and with some good illustrations. A few thoughts/suggestions for possible improvements. KJP1 (talk) 07:38, 20 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Material in the lead should summarise content within the main body of the article. The closing comment in the lead about it being, unusually, an undedicated church is not returned to in the main body. I'm sure it is right, and churches without dedications are actually pretty rare across the UK, not just in Kent, but it should also be in the main body, supported by a reference.
  • "Decorum and monuments" - I don't know what the word "Decorum" means in this context?
  • "all'antica" - "in the style of the ancients" is a pretty obscure term. Could you unpack it, so that the meaning is clear to the reader. Perhaps something like, "with draperies in a classical style".
  • The Historic England listings site is exceptionally good for architecture articles. Here, as an example, is its listing for Elmstone, [1]. Re. the above, HE uses the following wording, "antique-styled drapery".
  • External links - again, it can be helpful to expand these, so that the readers can see where you are suggesting they might go. I've done this one as an example.
Many thanks for these suggestions, I've edited the article accordingly and I'll keep them in mind for future articles. JoshTilley (talk) 12:34, 20 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
