Notability questionable

[edit]

Please establish notability of this article with respect to Wikipedia:Notability (academics). Otherwise, it should be recommended for deletion. Thanks, Mathglot (talk) 21:19, 11 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Any notability criteria will do. It doesn't have to be the Academics one, although we should try to fulfil that if we can. At the moment we have the France 24 article, which is good RS and specifically about her. We need more than that but it is a plausible start. If we had another one as good as that then I think we would be OK. I've put the talk header on this page which has links for finding sources. --DanielRigal (talk) 21:31, 11 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, definitely working on finding the right kinds of sources.
On the academic front, she's been cited hundreds of times for her work on evidentials and conventional implicature. (I wasn't sure if citing Google Scholar was appropriate, or how else to show her influence in these matters; she's basically the go-to name for the semantics of slurs, the semantics of dog-whistles, and more.)
On the gender news front, there's plenty more, like this Japan Times article about the couple filing suit, which I've now added to the article. I'm certain there's much more written in Japanese which I can't read, as well.
Appreciate the attention and thought, though! :) --MalignantMouse (talk) 21:39, 11 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
