article needs editing

Enthusiastic but hard to understand. e.g. "protagonist of repeated ups and downs". And "Because of the Muslim conquest of Sicily, John forced to abandon the town...." Who is John? What town? etc Needs to be rewritten by someone who knows the sources but can write in English. --Richardson mcphillips (talk) 12:17, 11 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
