Carpet design

[edit]

The entry

* Elephant's foot (design), a geometrical design common in Turkomen rugs ("Bukhara rugs") and adapted to some Indian, Pakistani and Iranian rugs, also called Fil Pah

and thus linking to an article that has to say on the subject only

... most typical is that of the octagonal elephant's foot (Bukhara) print, often with a red or tan background (picture)

is a poster child for abuse of Dab entries (and doesn't reflect that well either on the state of the Turkmen rug article). I've cut the entry down to what is acceptable per MoSDab, buit copied the additional info talk:Turkmen rug &/or talk:Gul (design), where hopefully it will be put to better use.

What you've done looks OK to me (if I knew more about rugs I'd be more confident about whether the shorter version picks the most relevant pieces, but based on my knowledge it looks fine). Kingdon (talk) 00:55, 4 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know who wrote "The foot of an elephant", but I'm laughing really really hard. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.167.23.78 (talk) 08:13, 12 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
