Merge Slimelight
[edit]I propose merging Slimelight into this article; I've created this article for that express purpose. I believe both Electrowerkz and Slimelight meet the GNG, (the former at least by reference to the latter), but it doesn't make sense to have separate articles for them both, and making the main article be Electrowerkz allows it to cover other events that happen there, such as weddings or other clubs. —me_and 17:49, 4 August 2013 (UTC)
- Oppose. Does Electrowerkz even meet WP:N, other than as a venue for Slimelight? Andy Dingley (talk) 15:48, 12 August 2013 (UTC)
- Without Slimelight, Electrowerkz probably fails WP:N. However Slimelight meets N per its deletion discussion, and I think hanging Slimelight off Electrowerkz makes more sense than the other way around (which is how things were before I started messing around with it all). And create-then-merge seemed a more sensible workflow than trying to simultaneously move and rewrite. —me_and 15:56, 12 August 2013 (UTC)
- (As a point of interest, when I first came across Slimelight my first thoughts were to AfD it under WP:N, until I saw it had already been done with consensus to keep. Given that consensus, these changes seemed to be the best way to improve Wikipedia's coverage here. —me_and 15:59, 12 August 2013 (UTC))
- So if one and only one topic is notable, that's the one to delete? Andy Dingley (talk) 16:12, 12 August 2013 (UTC)
- I don't think it makes sense to talk about Slimelight without talking about Electrowerkz or vice versa, and based on the article content, other editors agree. Given that, I think an article on Electrowerkz more logically contains discussion about both topics than an article on Slimelight. It's not a delete, it's a merge; Slimelight will redirect to the relevant section of Electrowerkz. —me_and 16:52, 12 August 2013 (UTC)

Merger proposal
[edit]I note that this merger has been proprosed before, and no consensus to merge was reached. I am proposing this merger again as recent events lead me to believe this is the right thing to do. The first is the effective blanking of the Slimelight article due to it being unreferenced. While looking for references to justify restoring some information, I found the news that the co-founder of Slimelight and the owner of Electrowerkz had died recently, and there are a number of news articles on his passing. The articles do two things - 1) they provide citable sources for information about Slimelight and Electrowerkz, and 2) they demonstrate that it is impossible to entirely separate the two. Therefore, rather than try and rebuild the Slimelight article, the sensible thing to do would appear to be merge the two - into Electrowerkz because Slimelight is a club night held at Electrowerkz, so I judge the venue to take precedence - and improve the Electrowerkz article with references. - I have only a passing familiarity with the subject, but I'm inclined to agree with you that merging seems appropriate. —Mx. Granger (talk · contribs) 14:40, 1 May 2021 (UTC)
- I've performed the merge. -- Mikeblas (talk) 20:43, 6 November 2021 (UTC)
Mayuan Mak was the actual founder of Electrowerkz and Slimelight. Companies Warehouse holds official documents proving he was sole Director and shareholder. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shay.anne (talk • contribs) 15:27, 2 February 2022 (UTC)
