[edit]In the History section, in the second to last paragraph, the article states, "Despite an expected rapid increase in installed capacity scheduled in 2014 for both wind and solar, and expected increase to 60 GW in nuclear by 2020, coal will still account between 65% and 75% of capacity in 2020." This cites a 2013 review of the Chinese electricity sector. The problem with this is that it is already obsolete; see the sidebar for current capacity.
Speaking of the sidebar, the cited source now has 2017 data, so it should probably be updated. I will do this as time permits, but I will in no way be disappointed if beaten to it - see https://chinaenergyportal.org/en/2017-electricity-other-energy-statistics-update-of-june-2018/ 2600:1702:AE0:7840:1DC3:58B6:7C98:C886 (talk) 06:18, 4 January 2019 (UTC)
I'm not sure how the e-commerce section has to do with China's energy industry--perhaps a clarification is needed.Kong Yiji (talk) 16:36, 20 October 2009 (UTC)
Indeed the e-commerce section is off-topic and it's a comment rather than informative text so I deleted it.--RichPeopleShouldNotBegForMoney (talk) 13:22, 15 May 2015 (UTC)
This article is a total mess. Where are these figures on total installed capacity from as they don't add up with anything the IEA has or anyone else has. Secondary sources are all over the map. This is a very poorly written article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.183.23.11 (talk) 16:53, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
Hello fellow Wikipedians,
In the next couple weeks, I will be revising and editing this article for an energy and sustainability course project. I would appreciate any feedback on my proposed edits, which I will be working on in my user sandbox. So far, my planned changes to the article include: Adding a section on Natural gas, Biomass waste and Storage and demand respond. Reorganizing the Natural gas and Biomass waste section Updating and adding citations to Natural gas, Biomass waste and Storage and demand respond section
Thanks! --Yilinganna (talk) 17:34, 27 February 2024 (UTC)
Orphaned references in Electricity sector in China
[edit]I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Electricity sector in China's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
Reference named "capacity":

- From Electricity sector in India: "All India Installed Capacity of Utility Power Stations" (PDF). Retrieved 19 October 2016.
I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT⚡ 20:46, 7 November 2016 (UTC)
Removed "Problems" Section
[edit]Removed material flagged a year ago as not sourced which was opinionated and based on outdated claims. My proposal is delete/removal as the language itself was a child's essay not professional. This has been opposed by one user so next step is formal arbitration. Read it and the poor quality, misconceptions, and outright lies the removed section contains are obvious. If this were BLP the solution would be clear, but an encyclopedia also must have standards for quality in content and removal of deceptions. Militärwissenschaften (talk) 10:30, 4 March 2018 (UTC)

Production and capacity data inconsistent and unsourced
[edit]The Production and capacity data for 2022 doesn't add up, e.g. the total isn't equal to the sum of the energy sources. None of the cited sources contains data for that year. Haven't checked the other years. 84.251.73.220 (talk) 14:30, 1 February 2024 (UTC)
- I have cited the total installed capacity for 2023 - are you or @Yilinganna: or anyone else able to fix the other things? If not I suggest you tag uncited info and if nobody fixes it in a reasonable time (maybe a couple of weeks) delete it Chidgk1 (talk) 14:45, 1 February 2024 (UTC)
