Note on Historicity

[edit]

As it stood, this article appeared to claim that Eglon was an actual historical figure. I've added a reference by Cristiano Grottanelli, published by Oxford University Press, claiming that the Eglon story is mythical. Because the topic of biblical historicity seems to cause a great deal of discussion on Wikipedia, I made sure to preface my sentence with "According to Cristiano Grottanelli" in order to avoid giving the impression that all reliable sources agree that Eglon is mythical. I don't know whether they do. If anyone can find a reliable source that supports the historical nature of the Eglon story, I would be perfectly content if they were to add a reference to that source alongside the one by Grottanelli.Alephb (talk) 09:16, 10 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
